On the blackboard in front of the diner it says that the kitchen is closed from 2PM until 5PM but you can still order some sausages, soup and kaiserschmarrn. The sausages taste like meat sticks, they are very dry and nothing to write home about. The onion soup is good but very salty. Beer is too watery. Kaiserchmarrn is great but we had a very strange situation happen to us with kaiserschmarrn. We ordered two portions, and after 10-15 minutes the guests at the neighboring table brought us a kaiserschmarrn and told us that the waitress mistakenly brought it to their table. We couldn't see the waitress anywhere and by the time we saw her, the other guests have already left. Turns out they ordered the kaiserschmarrn and didn't want to eat it so they gave it to us - but they didn't pay for it so the restaurant made us pay for it. I found this very strange and not very hospitable at all since we got tricked. It's not the waitress's fault and it's not her responsibility either, but it was still unpleasant to have to pay for someone else's meal. Just to be clear - we would have paid for it out of politeness anyway, but we also expected to be offered to not have to pay for it since it wasn't our fault. It seems like common decency and if would have been good for the restaurant's review as well. A lot of the staff also doesn't speak almost any English and their English is in general very poor, but this is a problem that the entire service industry in Kitzbühel has, not...
Read moreAn unforgettable experience. Mocking elevates traditional and international dishes. Everything is sourced localy focusing on quality. We opted for the tasting menu (has to be booked a day in advance) with wine pairings. We were amazed. The food was fresh, flavourful and balanced. The dishes were inspired by traditional recipes and local ingredients. We learned about surprising producers, like crawfish from Innsbruck. The wine pairings were exceptional. An interesting addition was the Quince juice. Very tasty and refreshing. The starters were in sharing style, which was great because more could be included. I want to highlight the beef tartar and the caesar salad. The starters were followed by our favorite course, the Onsen egg with a whey foam and spinach cream. A very creamy and aromatic reimagination of spinach with fried eggs. The wine served with this was the perfect choice. The bisque and crawfish was the most surprising, since we wouldn't have thought they were available in the region. From the mains I want to mention the veal with celery puree and celery oil. The meat coocked to perfection, the puree flavourful and creamy. Excelent. The dessert was a very nice "cake", more like buns, with a vanilla source. Fluffy and comforting although we were very full at this point. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Marcus was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable about everything we were served. All in all, I highly recommend...
Read moreExcellent food at above average prices. The restaurant is run by the family that owns the largest butcher in town, and it shows. The meat dishes are amazing, and they offer all sorts of dishes that you wouldn't find elsewhere. I had the grilled bone marrow and the fried Kalbskopf (literally: calf's head), and they were both delicious. However, you won't find just meat on the menu. There are plenty of vegetarian options, too, and according to my two vegetarian companions, they were also delicious. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. Every table we looked at seemed to have a warm atmosphere - there seemed to be no "best table in the house". The only thing that I would consider a slight negative was the service. The waiters are young and very friendly, but their inexperience shows at times. We would often get the same order of drinks delivered twice, etc. Lastly, I would like to address the prices. While they are above average in general, I would actually consider that rather cheap for the area (Kitzbühel). Overall, I can confidently recommend...
