Gasthaus Chizzo — Restaurant in Kitzbühel

Worst restaurant in the whole world. I work as a restaurant reviewer and I’ve been to hundreds of restaurants in the whole world and never witnessed anything like this. They bring bread to the table without ordering it and want you to pay 10 euros for the bread even though you didn’t order it. They do not show you the cocktail menu and we ordered cocktails (which are between 12-17 euros in the whole world) and asked us to pay 28 euros per cocktail. Which is insane. The main course was 20 euros. And they insist on saying that they don’t have a cocktail menu and say that it includes champagne which makes it expensive (The cocktails was really bad btw). We told them that this price was insane and they started comparing themselves with Michelin star restaurants. And we checked their cocktail menu on their website and their cocktails cost only 16 euros. Total fraud. And they ask for insane tip prices and when you refuse to pay they don’t leave the table. We were scammed! Please don’t go and save yourself from a really terrible experience. The food was terrible to start with. When we asked to see their cocktail menu and prices they insisted that they did not have a menu. One glass of wine costed 7 euros in the menu so based on that we ordered one cocktail. When we asked for the bill we saw that they charged 28 euros per cocktail which was ridiculous, when we asked for the manager they argued with us and wanted us to pay the full price. We payed 100 euros per person for one diner and a drink. And they demanded 30% tip, when we did not want to pay that amount due to the terrible experience the waiter did not leave the table and insisted us to pay the tip until we had to accept. One star and if I could rate zero I would!

Our experience was appalling from start to finish. We were greeted with disregard upon entry, having finally been offered someone’s attention they struggled to find our booking.

After sitting down at our table we eventually were fortunate enough to be allowed to order some wine and food (1 bottle and 2 courses each)

The wine took over 20 minutes to arrive and our starters arrived at massive intervals. The food that did grace us was bland and talentless.

Waiter was completely clueless and had zero awareness from start to finish.

Having tried quite a few I can safely say this is the worst restaurant in Kitzbuhel, do not waste your time...
