Thanks you for your reply to my husbands review (Gavin, 2023) Since you had no recollection of events I thought I’d just refresh your memory as to what happened to us when we chose Papa Joe’s to spend our evening having a meal. We ordered nachos, €9.90, 2 x El Diablo burgers, €17.90 each & bottle of house red wine, €34.00 from the attentive friendly waitress. She brought the wine - it was very cold (not correct for red wine) & replaced the screw top after pouring us a glass each (red wine should breathe) Nachos came - lovely. Burgers came (no sauces offered or on table) Started eating burgers but couldn’t detect any ‘heat’ in either. Called waitress who took my knife & lifted the burger up to peer underneath. ‘Oh dear - there should be jalapenos but there are not’ She then took both our plates away saying she’d need to show the chef. 5 mins later our plates were dumped in the table by a surly waiter who said nothing and walked straight back to his position by the kitchen exit, where he resumed his study of his mobile phone and continued yawning. We inspected our partly eaten burgers on our plates, that had been dumped wordlessly in front of us (mine to my husband and his to me…) Each partly eaten burger had had a huge pile of jalapeños chucked on top of it. This we felt was unacceptable so alerted the manager who asked if we wanted something else. I said no thanks, as I wasn’t impressed with the ‘chef’ ; my husband said ok he’d have a fresh one but she didn’t appear to hear just snatched up both plates and left. At this point we asked the first waitress for the bill and to take the remaining wine (2/3 bottle left) as we wanted to just pay for what we’d had and leave (the wine we had chosen was also sold by the glass- we’d had 2 glasses from the bottle) She asked the manager if this was possible but we were told no. Therefore, since we were to pay for the entire bottle of wine we asked if there was a bag we could put it in to take it with us, not wishing to leave clutching a bottle as we were then going to need to find somewhere else to eat. Obviously we had no desire to spend any longer in this unwelcoming, unprofessional burger bar. We paid our bill for the nachos and wine. The friendly waitress brought a ‘Take Away’ bag (readily available should you wish to take leftovers with you) for the wine and we thanked her. So the primary issue is the lack of customer care and service from the chef, management and several...
Read moreI went here with two of my friends while skiing in Schladming. We tried booking but they don't take reservations and always seem to be really busy. There was no table free when we arrived so we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. The cocktail menu is great and we got margaritas and a coronarita. They also have beer & wine.
They have two burgers as the vegan option. They are both the same except one has one burger patty and the other has two. I ordered the regular one and it big enough with one burger. The burger looked to be made from mashed vegetables and beans and had guacamole and salad on top and served with fries. It was nice enough, I was just happy to have a vegan option to pick while out with my friends who aren't vegan.
One of my friends ordered a burrito. She said it was fine but had no rice, beans or salsa so was actually more like a fajita so was a bit disappointed. My other friend ordered the ribs and said they were lovely. The rib portions were huge so possibly could order that to share.
It was a nice enough spot and convenient because it was central. Reminded us a bit of TGI Fridays or Weatherspoos if you get the reference. I would go back there if I was with a group in Schladming again.
Note: The restaurant is on the first floor in case you have someone disabled or...
Read moreI went to have dinner at Papa Joe’s with my friend (both 20 years old girls) twice. The first time we came there we were wearing make up a nice clothes. That time the service and the food were okay. The second time we came there, we came directly from a hike with back-packs and wearing sportswear. I believe this is normal as Schladming is a hiking destination. This time we were treated rudely. We ordered drinks and nachos. The nachos they served us were partially burnt. We politely asked the waiter if he could do something about it. He acted confused and then he reached into our meal with his bare hand and grabbed few of the burnt nachos directly from our plate. We have not experienced such treatment in any other restaurant. Even though we are young, we believe that paying customers should be treated with more respect and politeness. We left very unhappy with the service and we are definitely not coming back...
