Sattler‘s — Restaurant in Politische Expositur Gröbming

So... where do I start? After an awesome day of skiiing in Schladming I came to Sattler’s with a large group of friends.

When the very nice waitress came with the first order of drinks she accidentally stumbled and spilled a whole tray of drinks (red wine, gin and beer) all over me. All my clothes were stained and smelled of alcohol.

To make a long story short, the restaurant charged me full price for my meal and just told me that I’d need to come back the day after to talk to the manager, preferably with a receipt for the cleaning of the clothes. I told her I was leaving the day after so I wouldn’t be able to. She then just gave me the restaurant’s card. The total bill was €17.20 (pizza, aperol, glass of red wine).

I would have settled with a modest discount and sincere apologies. I received neither. Will never ever go back to this restaurant!

Last Sunday, Breakfast time: As we still have a long drive ahead of us, we decided to order Ham & Eggs for take out and just eat along the way. The staff, quite unwelcoming: „We dont have Breakfast to go, try the Bakery next to us“ Since I thought they lack container for take outs, I showed them that I have a glass container box (with lid). The waitress, a bit irritated, repeated „We dont have breakfast to go“. Purely illogical! What if I took a seat, ordered ham and eggs from this waitress, & when my order comes, I will immediately put it in my box, pay the bill and leave. Where’s the difference?! I almost did this, but I realized I wouldn’t like to spend my money where this unfriendly mindless staff...

My experience at Sattlers was at best okay... I had a Hugo Spritzer and some nachos for appetizers, which were great and came almost right after I ordered it, but after they had taken my food order it was like that order wasn't delivered to the kitchen. It took about one and a half hour before our waiter asked "Haven't you guys gotten your food yet?". They waiter then prioritized our food, which was nice but also necissary in my opinion. The pizza I then got was decent, but after waiting almost 2 hours I don't think anything would taste "amazing". I give Sattlers 3 stars because mistakes can happen and I know that as a waiter myself.
