Schlemmerkuchl — Restaurant in Salzburg

I'm a positive person, so let's start with the positives: The food was OUTSTANDING. I had a Wiener Schnitzel and my wife had a wild garlic soup. The lady who served us whom I believe to be the landlady was pleasant and friendly.

HOWEVER, it was otherwise a not-to-be-repeated experience. We asked the landlord (I think) when we got there for a table for two and he indicated we could sit anywhere. However, we had to move, as a table of very rowdy older men drinking made it impossible to hold a conversation. As it was a small venue, this didn't make a great difference. We then waited.... and waited.... and waited... to be served, while the landlord proceeded to serve drinks to his mates and chat to them. He clearly did not want to serve us - was this because we were perceived as 'foreign' - both of us spoke good German to him as we are German-speakers and I am a German teacher. Or was it because we were two women together (yes we are LGBT, but not obviously so)? The locals were also staring at us too, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Finally he whispered something to his wife (I guess) and she served us. We noticed another group of people come in and leave soon after, as it was so loud and there was such a delay in serving food.

Disappointing, given it was pretty good value and close to the international hotel where we were staying. I got the feeling we had strayed into the locals' pub and we should have known our place and gone to the S'Winterteller instead (which we did the following evening and received a friendly welcome and...

Also, wo fang ich an... bis wir überhaupt was zu Essen bekommen haben, dauerte es 1 1/2h. Das Cola war abgestanden. Die Salate wurden vertauscht. Die Beilagen teilweise ultra salzig oder ganz vergessen... Wir waren 8 Personen. Zusammen essen war leider nicht, weil einfach viel zu viel Zeit zwischen den Mahlzeiten vergangen ist. Feeling ist wie ne Kneipe. Stammtisch mitten drin. Hab mir unter den Bildern etwas anderes...
