It’s a nice, comfortable hotel that has clearly undergone some renovations. The room size and bed are what you’d expect for a European hotel. ||The bathroom, while not big, had been recently been redone and was very modern. The toilet paper holder was not optimally positioned and my wife kept knocking the roll off. There was also no box of Kleenex in the room (a first for us in Germany/Austria). ||The room was very clean and more than adequate. Other reviewers mentioned the church bells. The hotel is very close to the church and the bells ring all night long. If you sleep with the windows open or are not a sound sleeper, it’s pretty aggravating. We’ve stayed other places where the bells stop at 10 PM so you get a good night’s sleep; no such luck here. ||The included breakfast is served in the attached restaurant and was very good. It’s the first breakfast I’ve had where the rolls were still warm. Very nice!||It’s a very nice hotel...
Read moreLocal hotel, great staff, clean rooms, clean lobby, delicious breakfast with fresh local products (LDF), daily cleaning, great prices. We visited Salzburg for three days and decided to choose a local hotel. I'm impressed, to be honest. Posters dated from 1911, 1939, 1944, 1945, wow 👌. Lift from ground floor to level three (well done). Smoking terrace with views over the mountains, accessible prices, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel restaurant where you can find locals as well. Great selections of beer and wines. The young gentleman from reception suggested a few attractions, how to travel quickly and how to save money on transport. Staff is helpful and super kind. When we returned, the room was clean, and new towels, sanitised toilet. Guys,...
Read moreWe needed a place to stay the night close to Saltzberg and booked this one on hotels.com. We read the reviews and decided we would try it out even with a review saying there was a church near by with a bell that rings all night. We heard it a few times but after turning on the fan and closing the window we couldn't really hear it unless we listened for it. We were in a nonsmoking room but the balcony near our room where the window opend to had smokers so we kept having to close it. We did have a good view of the church and mountains out our window. The restaurant downstairs had a good spread for breakfast. We also ate supper there as well. The lady and gentleman at the front desk were helpful when we had questions. I would say a good value...
