Gasthaus pezzl — Restaurant in Vienna

An elderly couple runs this Gasthaus and the decoration has remained the same for decades, I guess... The owner did not speak English but was friendly enough and we got along. It's a nice experience to remember the glory days when life was slower yet fun. The food was tasty, Austrian, and homemade. One could hear and somehow see the food being prepared in the kitchen. The prices were also good and the place was almost empty when I visited during lunch on a weekday. Incredible find when it comes to food! This is not a bar/restaurant, this is like going to someone's home and that person prepares you homemade food, this establishment has been stuck in the past, but that gives it a certain charm that you can't simply replicate, it's a true vintage wonder. It's not the cleanest, it's not the most well lighten place, but the charming owner and the amazing simple local food make it totally worth it, specially considering the prices. If you put your bias aside and try this place out, I think you wouldn't...

We went in thinking this was a local store, but there were no customers there. The meal wasn't bad. However, we didn't order a non-alcoholic beer when we paid, but it was included in the receipt. Left it out without anything. It's typical gourd practice. Ordered a salad and 3 plates and it wasn't worth the price. This place deserves less than one star....
