The restaurant's food is delicious and they have live music which make you feel like you are having '1001 nights' in a Sahara desert. We are 6 girls whom had a small gathering in this restauant to experience a new cuisine, culture and etc. If you were a meat lover, this place is a must visit for you all. If you were bored with Austrian local food, this is a place for you to explore something new in Vienna,Austria. If you wanted to date a girl and impress her with something new and exciting, this would be a perfect place for a date. (ask when's the live band is and also ask the restaurant to place you a certain distance from the band). If you wanted to relax yourself ,you can come here and order a local tea and enjoy the music. Attention : there has a charging fee or EURO 2 for the live music (They should inform the guests about it or place a small note in front of the door or on the table so the customers won't be feeling ripped off). I would recommend you to communicate clearly with the waiter regarding the food's portion as it might be surprisingly big and asked clearly the price and etc. If there has some misunderstading or ect, kindly clarify the portion and ask them to retour and etc. There were some misunderstanding but it was solved in peace.
All in all, for those whom wanna experience something new or have a feel of Iran's culture - This place is...
Read moreOne of my favorites for Persian food in Vienna. But not for the same reason as the others I have reviewed, which is the kebab. Kebab is hard to get just right at home so we always leave that to the pros. But this is about the stews.... and that is where it is nearly impossible to compete with my wife's cooking (she is Persian). She has been doing her magic cooking for me for over 30 years and her stews are unmatched. Tausend und eine Nacht is the closest anyone has ever come and even my wife was blown away by how incredible their Ghorme Sabzi (green stew) is.
Ghorme Sabzi is a stew with meat chunks, kidney beans and a collection of greens chopped and fried and then slow cooked with the meat and beans. The result is sublime.
The restaurant is out in the 17th district but easily reachable on the 43 train or the U6.
Update on 12/6: Had their lunch menu chicken kebab yesterday. It was the best I've ever had. So juicy, tender and flavorful. Definitely worth having. Seems to be on the menu...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at 10001 Nights Persian Restaurant in Vienna! The food was fresh, flavorful, and not heavy at all, which we really appreciated.
To start, we ordered Doogh (yogurt drink) along with Babaghanoush and Kashk-e-Bademjan. While I suspect the eggplant in both appetizers wasn't grilled (which is traditional), the flavors were still excellent and a great way to begin the meal.
For mains, we tried the Soltani and Vaziri kebab platters, served with delicious Zereshk Polo (barberry rice). The kebabs were grilled perfectly—juicy and well-seasoned. The Koobideh had a slightly sweet taste, likely from the onions used, which was unique but still tasty.
We finished with Faloodeh for dessert, and it was a refreshing and authentic way to end the meal.
Overall, we were really impressed. Great atmosphere, generous portions, and a nice balance of flavor and freshness. Highly recommend for anyone craving Persian...
