Went here on a Fri evening, unfortunately was raining so couldnt take advantage of the wonderful looking garden. However were able to (just) find a couple of seats inside without reservation. General atmosphere was friendly and local, bustling without being overly noisy. Had a bottle of their house red, nice and very clean on the palate, disappeared easily. Took a selection of the great choices from the buffet, reasonably priced, and also a couple of dishes from the current specials menu (see attached photo). My wife had the 'colourful salad' which was great and good sized portion. I had the pork tomahawk steak which came with asparagus ragout and rosemary potatoes, and this dish for me was the difference between my normal 4-star and my rarely given 5-star review. The steak was an absolute highlight, tender and superbly seasoned and cooked, will live long in the memory The staff were great, very patient with our queries. Read moreThere are 2 types of food available here. Mentioned in menu card kept at the table! These are standard must-have kind of food ordered by public in general. Rates are considerably cheaper. Food portion is quite big and normally more than enough for 2 average person. There are gourmet food available inside the restaurant. Please note that there may be a considerable time and patience required to get this food from inside the restaurant. I saw people bringing their food themselves from inside. Also, cost is on a bit higher side. Still, despite all these difficulties, there was a line of devoted people. Restaurant recommends it's own wine. However, options are available. Very lively atmosphere. Frequented by families and large groups! Super fast and supportive staff! Very large and spacious with lot...

The buffet is typical heuriger and excellent, catering for all tastes. The Auer wines are all worth a taste, try the sparkling as an aperitif, and dont miss the Auer gemischter satz, a great choice with the schnitzel :-) The scene is chilled in the garden though you should book a table for peak times. The kitchen closes at 9pm, so dont be too late on a perfect summer evening. If driving there is a free parking area in an empty block nearby one street across via Traminergasse on the corner with...
