I visited this restaurant last Saturday with my family and friends (11 people in total). We reserved a table for 1pm (13h), and it was ready when we arrived. The server was promptly at our table and handed out menus (speisekarten) on clipboards- a rather neat idea, imho, especially if you need to change items or advertise specials. I don't recall exactly how many pages there were, but it was at least 5, probably more, with no space wasted for extra "fluff text", but rather straight-forward listings of the items available, their price, and a short description. I noticed that there were entire sections devoted to both Vegan and Vegetarian options. As this was my first time at this restaurant, I opted for a favorite of mine, Lamb Vindaloo, which was offer Mild, Medium, or Spicy (Scharf); I chose something between medium and spicy, not knowing exactly what their definition of "spicy" was compared to mine.
I was honestly surprised at how quickly or food arrived; my friend and I hardly had enough time to finish a smoke outside before everything arrived at our table. In our case, the meals were served with the rice in one bowl, and the curries in a separate, metal bowl (some people have already posted pictures for reference), as well as a generously-sized plate to portion things out for yourself as wanted. This set-up would also make it ideal for persons wanting to share their meal, or sample different kinds of dishes.
The first thing I noticed as I approached our table was the palate of aromas that filled the air. Everything smelled so good and appetizing! I took my seat and dove in. I knew things were going to be good when I saw the texture of the sauce for my vindaloo- it was perfect. Neither wet and runny nor dry and burnt, the sweet spot in the middle. 10/10. The scent was a strong, but not overwhelming, bouquet of the various herbs and spices. 10/10. The moment of truth: Taste. I can honestly say, I have never had a better vindaloo than that which I had last Saturday. The spiciness was, as ordered, somewhat hotter than medium, but not so much as to overwhelm any other flavors. The 'Vin' part (aka, vinegar) was perfectly proportioned to make the other spices and seasonings pop to life and dance across my tongue. The lamb practically melted in my mouth, and the potatoes had just enough firmness to hold their integrity without getting lost in the sauce. It was nothing short of amazing, and the portion size was generous as well. 10/10.
TL/DR: My visit to this restaurant was awesome, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Indian Cuisine. I look forward to returning...
Read moreLittle India's delivery service is simply outstanding. From start to finish, the process was seamless and efficient. The food arrived at my doorstep promptly, and was still hot and fresh when I opened the containers.
The quality and taste of the food was nothing short of amazing, just like dining at the restaurant. The flavors were authentic and bold, and every dish was prepared to perfection. It was evident that care and attention to detail had been taken in both the preparation and delivery of my order.
But what really stood out was the exceptional customer service. The delivery driver was friendly and professional, and went out of their way to ensure my order was delivered to my satisfaction. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent service was truly appreciated.
Overall, I highly recommend Little India's delivery service. It's clear that they take pride in their food and customer service, and it shows. If you're looking for delicious, authentic Indian cuisine delivered straight to your door with exceptional service, then Little India is the way to go. 5...
Read moreThe food here is good. I have been here three times so far, and I am convinced that they treat Indians differently than Europeans. The last time when my wife and I went to eat here, we ordered daal makhani. We requested two small bowls because daal makhani has thin gravy. The person there asked us why we need that for daal (none of his business really), and then said to us "If Austrians see you, they will laugh at you". How rude and unprofessional this is! I told him that we are Indians and we eat daal in a bowl to which he replied "No!" and walked away. I even tipped him at the end but I will never ever go there again. If the owner is reading this, please consider treating people from your own country at par...
