Walked by Thursday night and asked for a table for Friday evening. Sorry fully booked. At 6 pm? Sure that worked. That of course increased my expectations and knowing the food from that area pretty well I was ready. The family running the place was very friendly and attentive. The place is dog friendly which is not always easy to find. They speak Italian, German, Slovenian, and some Croatian. Anyway, the food: the wine was nice, the white bread from the local backer was the best I have had in a restaurant in Vienna in ages. We shared 4 mains among 3 of us and they were all very very tasty. My favorite the tuna carpaccio, followed by the mackerel (sgombro al savor) which is a re-elaboration of a traditional recipe. The insalata di seppie was also very nice, while the pasta with fish a tad too spicy for me. All in all a great meal. We paid roughly 30€ per person, drinks included, do I am not sure what some reviews are harping on about this place being overpriced. For the quality I got I was very satisfied. Period. We brought cash as I noticed a sign the day before saying no bankomat. Update 17.11.2018: we went by for dinner again, this time I had to try the tripes, which were very good. The Brasaola carpaccio and chocolate mousse were also excellent. We shall be back again!

Hong Kong Palace is an Asian restaurant in the neighborhood of Spittelau. The inside is nice and we really enjoyed both the aquarium and the high ceiling. The Bulgogi tasted really good, whereas the Chinese style foods are normal - which is not bad at all for children. The ingredients were of a really good quality and the service was actually courteous. The Stiegl veer was a bit too warm though and the restaurant is a bit pricey - but it has a lot of promotions going on during the week. So if you like Chinese or Thai moderate food, this is a really good place to go, especially with the family. It is just not exceptional to deserve 4 stars or more...

Do you want to eat tasteless sushi? Welcome! Not fresh Fisch, not good rice. The portion is very big and the price is good but the taste is terrible. After this restaurant we felt badly. The waiters promised us to give the take-away-Box ( because we didn’t eat almost 2 rolls) but at the end of our staying they didn’t give us anything. We didn’t want to take that meal. However, the waiters didn’t fulfill their promises. Never come back!

“Most rude and unfriendly treatment that I ever got!”

I can't tell anything about the food or drinks because it didn't come to that. Today, this place was on my bucket list. I went in and asked if I could have a drink there, too. The lady just said "NO" without any explanations, anything like "I am sorry, we only serve dinner". Then she just turned around and left me standimg there. When she came back and I asked her why she was so rude and was treating me this way, she just rolled her eyes and said "I should stop being aggressiv and it should be clear to me that it's a Trattoria beacuse it says so on the door." When I mentioned that her behavoir is very unwelcoming, she just turned around and left. No matter how stressed people are, this is not acceptable! Based on that, I cannot recommend this...

Been here a few times and was happy with the food and service, but last night was a total customer service and food disaster! We sent a dish back because it tasted of lighter fluid with an unpleasant chemical aftertaste and were then surprised that the dish had been added to our bill. The manager began to argue saying that my wife had eaten too much and we should have returned it after the first mouthful; she had eaten no more than 25 percent. There was no apology for the quality of the food and the manager essentially called us liars, making us feel guilty for returning a pretty disgusting dish. We won’t be returning to the Hong Kong Palace due to the very poor manner in which they deal with complaints and how they value their customers. Customer service...
