Went to this restaurant with friends from abroad to show them the lovely food and drink culture of Austria that I love so much; I live here since 4 years and I never had a bad experience in a Heurigen. As we were shown to a table, the waitress loudly put the menus down and just left. We waited a while and another waitress came to take our drink order. When the drinks came, there was one weißer Spritzer too much and we told the waitress that we only ordered one. She, irritated, said that "she wrote down two". We insisted that we only wanted one; we were four people and it would be five drinks with two spritzers, which wouldn't really make sense. To this she just made a deep sigh, rolled her eyes and slammed the glass onto the table. The rest of the drinks she put at the end of the table and we had to give them out ourselves. There had not been any "welcome", "may I help you", or "I'm sorry" when getting the order wrong. We had been nothing but friendly, and we did all conversations in German, so it can't be some kind of language misunderstanding. We had planned to eat at the restaurant as well, but after this behaviour from both waitresses, we decided to pay, leave as fast as possible and enjoy dinner somewhere else as we did not feel welcome in this place. The food that we saw on other tables looked good and the outside seating area is lovely. It's a shame that the unfriendly and disrespectful behaviour of the waiting staff ruins the rest of...
Read moreThis is the first one star review I’ve ever given out, but unfortunately this place has TERRIBLE service. We went here with some friends visiting from abroad, and we wanted to show one of the lovely Heurigen we have here in Vienna.
Waitresses (both) were smashing down menus at one end of the table, taking our drink orders after a while. There was no “hello”, no eye contact, nothing - just like “what do you want” when we received our drinks it was one too much, and the waitress just said “I wrote this down”, with an eye roll and a big sigh, nothing like “oh sorry must have been a miscommunication” if she wouldn’t have been that unfriendly, we would have just taken the extra drink. (We speak fluent German, so no chance for any language barrier)
We wanted to eat as well, but since the service was so poorly and unfriendly, we decided to pay for the drinks, and go to the restaurant on the other side of the street for food, drinks, and a lovely night in Vienna, as we...
Read moreThe place looks really inviting from outside. When we arrived we were sat in an almost empty area near the kitchen, near other tourists who clearly didn't speak German. The main dining hall still had plenty of seats and no reservations on the table, however it appeared to be all Austrians. We were away from the music and liveliness of the Heuringer. I've clearly noticed a segregation from locals and tourists at many of the Heuringer's, which is a shame and blatantly ignorant. The band walked around to our area (three tables occupied), looked at us and walked away back to the main hall. This was a joke, as it appeared us foreigners were not worthy of an Austrian experience. To their loss, as I had 10 Euro in my hand ready to give to them as a thank you for a song - don't be so proud! The food was delicious and the service was great. I hope you improve on this and welcome foreigners at your tables, we have much to learn from...
