Charming Café Retreat in the Hills, but Food Leaves Room for Improvement Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) During my recent visit to the hills, I stumbled upon a charming café that offered a cozy ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. While the overall experience was pleasant, I must admit that the food fell short of my expectations. The café's location was undeniably its biggest selling point. Situated atop a hill, it provided a serene and picturesque setting, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and soaking in the beauty of nature. The outdoor seating area allowed guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air while savoring their meals. The staff at the café were friendly and attentive, promptly seating me upon arrival and offering recommendations from the menu. Their warm hospitality contributed positively to the dining experience. However, majority of the food items were not available leaving us with not much choice. We ordered sandwich which came with some fries, masala Maggi, peri-peri fries and customised veg noodles. Unfortunately, the food was somewhat underwhelming. While the menu boasted a variety of options, ranging from sandwiches and salads to hot meals and desserts, the execution did not match the promising descriptions. Beyond the food, the café's ambiance and decor were delightful. The rustic yet cozy interior created a welcoming atmosphere, and the tasteful decorations added a touch of charm. It was evident that the café had invested thoughtfully in creating a lovely space for patrons to enjoy. In summary, the café's location and ambiance were undeniably its strongest assets, providing a delightful retreat in the hills. However, the food quality left something to be desired, and improvements in the kitchen would undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience. If you find yourself visiting this café, I recommend enjoying the views, perhaps opting for a beverage, and basking in the serene atmosphere..

The Café Ullasa is in the heart of the town! The town Lansdowne developed by the britishers as the head quarter of Garhwal Riffles which is very neat & clean and less populated. it's ambience is v.artistic and beautifully crafted. The caption of the hoarding : " I ❤️ LANSDOWNE " attracts the people at the first glance with its beautiful lights. The multi cuisine preparation is v.satisfying. When we visited there we came to know that they have also the facilities of huts and tents for camping amids the deep jungle.we visited by gypsy for jungle safari and had our tea and snacks there as we were having limited time. They also hold some activities like tracking, campfire etc.to make stay more memorable. The nostalgic sounds of the woods gave us the feeling of music created by the nature. The people were experiencing scorching heat in the cities in the month of may but we were wearing woollens. We and our children thrilled by visiting there. Staying here amidst the woods may be an unique and life time experience for nature lovers! Good job by " the café Ullasa"!👍👌💐

Situated on the scenic route to Bhulla Taal, this cafe offers a tranquil dining experience away from Lansdowne's main market area. The surrounding pine forests and mountain views create a serene atmosphere. I visited during dinner hours (around 7:30 PM) and was the only customer, which added to the peaceful vibe. The cafe has an open-air seating area with basic but clean furniture. Two traditional wooden swings (jhullas) at the entrance make for a nice photo spot while waiting for your order. Food preparation time was about 15 minutes - reasonable considering everything is cooked fresh to order. Prices are similar to market standards. Best For: Couples/solo travelers seeking quiet dining Post-Bhulla Taal walk meals Those wanting to avoid crowded main market restaurants A reliable dining option in Lansdowne that delivers good quality food in a peaceful natural setting. Worth visiting if you prioritize freshness and tranquility over fancy ambience.

Absolutely pathetic cafe. Extremely unhygienic as could be seen from the Video uploaded. Utensils were not clean, flies all around, etc. The food was old, not freshly made. It seemed like it was prepared in the morning or a day before and then reheated. The noodles were dry and had no taste. The Schezwan rice lacked salt. The chili paneer was so thin that it seemed like pieces of paneer were added to a watery sauce. The food was completely cold and tasteless. Only good thing was peri peri French fries. The morale of the servers was so low that it made me not want to eat there. They looked as if they were being forced to work under pressure. Only good pictures are posted on Instagram and Google, which confused us. But the actual experience was very bad. Moreover, it was too expensive and not matching the standard of food, ambiance and service.

If you're ever visiting Lansdowne for any occasion (Whether it be your usual vacation or a special occasion like birthdays). Then I heavily recommend you to visit this place atleast once. Seriously, every thing about this place is just perfect, flawless and quintessential (and every synonym for the word 'perfect' really). From the atmosphere down to the service, food and quite literally everything. I solemnly can't stress on how great of a dining experience this place offers. Just see for yourselves and go on trip to Cafe Ullasa. Just trust me when I say that you will keep coming again and again! (Just so you know, This place housed the best pizza I have ever had in my life. With the facilities and other delicacies not lagging too far behind. If that isn't enough to entice you to come here, then I don't know what is).

A nice simple cafe with a lot of seats and a camping site behind with a good view. They are secured tents for accomodation. At the cafe, there are lot of options in drinks and food to try. Prices are reasonable. Tea was pleasant. Classic mojito was average. There are charging points and hence if you need to work or charge your cell phones, you can be here amidst your trip. There are a lot of seats and hence dont worry about waiting. They are very thoughtful and humble that washrooms are outside and you can use them without entering the cafe. It is good for travellers coming here that in case they cant spend time at cafe but need to use washroom, in this place, it’s a great help and very thoughtful. Thank you for that. And there’s a beautiful tree house too!
