If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Reserving: So easy! I did everything by email and Sloan was fast with a response when I asked questions. She even let me pay the deposit up to the day before arriving as we had a number of guest change several times. When I was looking for a cake to celebrate my sister's birthday she provided details allowing me to create a cake as to what I pictured. Very professional.

Service : Earl the Pearl!!! Fantastic! If you are celebrating anything, highly recommend requesting him for service. He was so engaging the whole time and made our night be so successful! This is the perfect place to spend a birthday. The pianist was amazing. He was playing the whole time. We nearly died when we heard him playing Kanye West towards the end of the night. That man knows how to play! The gentleman at the front, who greeted us was so hospitable. He even let our photographer come in and set up to take photos of our group. Without even requesting, they put our whole group in a private room so it felt very intimate. Everyone came in singing to the birthday girl, Bahamian style! I can not express enough how much we enjoyed our night because of the service the staff at Sapodilla provided.

Food: AMAZING! I had the smoked salmon and the birthday girl had lamb. Top notch. My husband had the Thai Curry Prawns and he loved it. He said it was the biggest shrimp he had ever had. We had 3 different appetizers and loved all of them.

The history: We ended our night walking the ground of the area in amazement. Two of our friends are soon to be married and ended up scheduling a tour the next day because of amazing the place was. We even got to meet the nice woman who used to live there. Now she was fantastic. The dinner we had here was the...

BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT-dined with them Jan 25 with a party of nine. Upon arriving we found three bottles of wine on the table. One bottle was opened and the waiter asked one of us to taste it, we then told the waiter to pour for the people who wanted some. Soon after we received our menu’s. A few minutes later SEVERAL appetizers were about to be put on our table, we did tell the waiter we thought he had the wrong table and that we did not order any appetizers, he then went up to the head waiter to let him know this and the head waiter told him to place the appetizers on the table. Like i mentioned two of us questioned the waiter. So we thought this was a part of their dining experience since they didn’t seem concerned that we didn’t order these. We then ordered dinner, the waiter continued to open the other two bottles of wine even after one of us told him to only open them if someone wanted more… 3 bottles of wine $810. Dinner was served and to be honest the food was just OK, nothing special. We opted out of dessert because we had been there for quite some time at that point. The check came and much to our surprise we were charged for all the appetizers which were quite pricey. Per couple the bill was $525. Not sure how they could assume that we could have had the money for all those appetizers. So aside from the price we felt very disheartened by this experience and felt like we were scammed!!! Yes totally taken advantage of and we will not be returning to...

While in the Bahamas we stayed at The Cove. I asked the concierge to make a reservation for two at Sapodilla Estate. The reservation was made and to our surprise they said they'll send someone to get us. We're on Paradise Island and they're on the west side of the island. Not a quick trip! This was the first of many indelible marks that Sapodilla made on us. The driver arrived and immediately entertained us with stories and history of the Bahamas. On arrival, we got a quick tour of the premises. We were also told of the owner and her story and were then handed off to a Hostess, who escorted us to our table and handed us off to our server who was an animated and fun person who was a pleasure to get to know over the short period. We were never left alone until being seated and felt catered to. The restaurant is pure eye candy. Everything is elegant and beautiful with eclectic and novel pieces of art. We had the calamari and we expected it to be battered and fried. They were not. It was some completely novel interpretation of Calamari that I had not experienced yet. I had Lamb and my sister had the Grouper. The Lamb was perfect. But the Grouper was fresh but had a bit of a gamey flavor. We closed out the evening with an Apple Strudel and Bread Pudding with Tea and an Espresso. This was one of the best experiences I've had dining out. I say that having been to Dunes at The Ocean Gate - Four Seasons only...

Just to start things out, wanted to state that the place is very expensive.....So we had very high expectations for this place. We were told to come here by everyone and we decided to come for our anniversary. A car picked us up from our hotel and the driver, "King James", was great!! He told me I should get the lamb shank. We get to the location, which is beautiful, but we got a seat near a window, overlooking the parking lot, and ordered the escargot. Never tried it before so decided to take a chance. It was supposed to be in a garlic butter sauce, but to be honest, it was more butter then garlic. We wanted to get the snapper, but they didn't have any. Then I asked for the Veal and they didn't have any. Seemed like whatever we ordered or wanted, they didn't have. Wife ordered the lobster, chicken dish. Lobster was over cooked and she didn't like it too much. I got the lamb shank, which was very good and had a curry flavor. Didn't even need a knife to get the meat off. After dinner we got a ride back to our hotel. Service was great, but the food, not so much. We paid a lot and didn't get what we expected.

The service was definitely not what I expected based on the reviews. The hostess was awesome, she was very polite and professional. The servers on the other hand could have done better with communication and ensuring that my fiance and I were well taken care of. To begin we were immediately greeted by server in regards to the type of water we would like. That was great. We waited another 15 to 20 mins before a server walked by and asked had someone already got our drink order, which they had not. He then got the drinks of our choice. We waited another long wait before our order was taken. After almost 45 mins -50 mins we received bread for the table. At this point prior to the bread coming we were ready to leave. It takes one minute to say we will soon be bringing fresh bread as it is being prepared. However, we set there ignored for the duration of time until the bread came. Now to the entrees the food was good, but again nothing spectacular. If you decide to dine I hope you have a better experience.
