Sunset Beach Club — Restaurant in New Providence

Honestly not a fan of this place at all and will not be back. To start off I had a gnat in my drink and the waiter took forever to come back to the table so I didn’t even say anything about that and let it go. I ordered ceviche assuming it had chips as well and it was just three little cups of ceviche without chips so when he came to take the rest of the order I ordered a main course and chips. The main course took about 30-40 minutes to come out and the chips never came out, so I hadn’t touched the ceviche since it came out 40 minutes prior. So I asked for it to be taken off the bill and not to bring the chips to the table, he said to my friend “there’s nothing he can really do once it’s on the table”. Even though it was room temperature at that point and probably unsafe to eat. Long story long, I got charged $28 for ceviche that wasn’t touched for an hour and was asked if I wanted to take it still.

I enjoyed myself so much here, that I ate here twice on a short trip. First of all, this was probably the best place to watch the beautiful Bahamian sunset. I was so glad that I opted to view it from here instead of taking a sunset cruise all the way on the east side (I stayed on the west side). The food that I had was phenomenal. I only had the fish tacos and guava duff, mind you, but both were really good! The guava lemonade spritzer was also really good. I enjoyed it as a non-alcoholic option. On my second visit there I learned a bit about the owner and her story and it only made me happier to be supporting such a business. Upon arrival there wasn’t any host or hostess at the entrance to welcome us. TJ the bartender offered us a table or a seat at the bar the moment he noticed us.

Seeing that he was so helpful, we decided to sit at the bar. He provided us with menus, then took our drink orders and food orders.

TJ then answered a few questions about the venue that we had. He made our drinks right in front of us and they were delicious!

Overall drinks were 10/10 Food 7/10 Service 10/10

We didn’t get to see the sunset, because we came at night due to the humidity, it wasn’t the pick for us to come and watch the sunset.

We would definitely be back at TJ’s bar in the winter season to watch the sunset and enjoy a few of those...
