This place is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of Manana! It is nothing flashy, but don’t let this deter you from visiting because the food and the atmosphere that Sophia creates is absolutely priceless! This is the opposite of fast food, as the food is freshly made when you order which is something I really loved about this restaurant! It is absolutely worth the wait so be patient! Instead of choosing from the menu, we asked Sophia to create us a meal for 4 and she brought us a huge array of amazing, delicious Ethiopian dishes presented beautifully in a traditional Mesob basket. We ate by hand with Injera bread, and there is a sink where you can wash your hands before and after your meal. After, we had coffee that is served in a handmade Jebena pot along with burning incense which is used in the Ethiopian coffee ceremony. The coffee is also served with sweet popcorn too, something I have never seen before but really enjoyed ! I highly recommend Abyssinia restaurant, please try it some time and support this wonderful business! Thank you Sophia for the wonderful experience,...

We had the shiro and Zegni(Meat) followed by traditional coffee …the food and interiors presentation felt as if we really were in Ethiopia/Eritrea, they have reasonable price for the portions they serve. The service was quick and staff were friendly, Zufan who is the owner was extremely lovely and made sure we were happy and enjoying our experience at all times. I am so happy to have discovered this restaurant.
Based on the exterior design you might assume that it wouldn't be a great experience but it's true when they say don't judge a book by its cover.
I definitely recommend this restaurant for quality food and a good time, I know it'll be a restaurant that I will visit on my next trip to Bahrain.
The only thing to keep in mind is that you would spend a few minutes looking for a parking as the area is mostly crowded with already parked cars.
Other than that thank you, Zufan and Biniam for your genuine care to everything and your amazing...
Read moreAmazing little place with delicious food and incredibly friendly staff. It’s a small family establishment with a lot of character. I ordered Beef tibs #15, Key tibs #14, and a large cooked vegetable and beans (lentils) platter called Beyeaynetu #19. Even though I go for the perfectly grilled meats (served piping hot over coals), this is also a great place for vegans/vegetarians with lots of cabbage, potatoes, lentils, etc. If you like it spicy be sure to order some berbere powder on the side to dip your meat in. Everything is served with authentic Ethiopian injera flatbread.
Eating at this restaurant is truly an experience and I definitely recommend doing it with a small group as the portions are generous (or maybe I just ordered too much food lol)....
