We always trusted them and they never let us down. This is the 3rd time we visited Oriental palace but this time under Covid19 Fear and Ban. ||||The GM Mr. Mohammed was very accommodating as I had cancel and rebook the booking 3 times due to visa and ticket issues, but he kept the patience. ||||We also a got a good deal including a bed and breakfast. Food was simple and quantity just enough for our diet. The Oats is something you must try here. We are still wondering how did the chef make that same taste we ordered during our 14 days quarantine here.||||But food is not a much issues in Bahrain with so many options. their Lunch veg and non veg is something we liked very much. Grill items needs a overlook. ||||Parking is ample so no issues at all. ||||There was some network issue and seems the IT guy need to really do something about this. However, I was given an access to their business center next to reception and I did my work there without any issues. IPAD and Iphone do have any issue which I hope GM will work it out as without internet its just impossible today. ||||However, the GM and staff where very reactive and supportive to resolve the issues. But this needs to be done right. ||||We missed their breakfast buffet due to covid19 restriction. Also the management has restricted all outsides guest entry which was also appreciated to maintain social distancing. ||||Overall we had a peace stay for 14 days and with easy access to drive in covid center and AlShifa covid test clinic, all went very...
Read moreIf you're looking for a new hotel, then this is not the hotel to go too. It is, admittedly, an old hotel that could use some sprucing up and some more lights. The rooms are quite old and the carpet needs refurbishing. But having said that, I would like to look at the hotel's plus points. First of all, it's location is really good, especially if you're a tourist. It's right smack at the center of the old part of town with lots of history in its streets and buildings. It's literally minutes away of walking to the Manama Souq and other attractions. The hotel and its surrounds certainly have that 'character', if you will. The room we stayed in is quiet, has a balcony, and the bathroom is spacious enough, clean, with really good water pressure and hot and cold water options. It still offers nice touches, i.e. slippers. Breakfast is nice, with both western and local (Indian and Middle Eastern) options. As I am a foodie, I was quite satisfied by the breakfast spread and was more than I expected. Check-in was quick and straightforward and the reception staff were all very professional and accommodating, including our request for late check-out. Overall, our experience of the...
Read moreIf you don't have a lot of time to spend in Manama, I would recommend Oriental Palace Hotel for its location, being in the heart of the city, and in walking distance to Bab al Bahrain as well as many other amenities. The hotel itself, however, was pretty terrible. We requested a double bed and a cot as we were travelling as a family of five, an infant included, and specifically asked for a non-smoking room for that reason. Instead, we were given a room with two extremely narrow single beds, no cot, and the room absolutely stunk like cigarettes. The beds were the hardest I'd ever slept on, we were only given one towel for the room, and there was no kettle nor coffee or tea facilities, meaning I had no option to make up bottles for my infant, despite the hotel calling itself a "family friendly hotel". Despite complaining multiple times, the WiFi did not work at all except at reception, so we had no WiFi service in the room. Aside from the great location and the low price, the hotel provides a very good buffet breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. This hotel may be a good option if you are in transit, but don't arrive with very high...
