Bir Chattala is a popular restaurant in Chittagong, Bangladesh, known for its Bengali cuisine. The restaurant is located in the city center, near the Agrabad Commercial Area.

Bir Chattala has a large and spacious interior, with a seating capacity of over 200 people. The restaurant is decorated in a traditional Bengali style, with wooden furniture and chandeliers. There is also a large outdoor terrace with seating for those who prefer to dine al fresco.

The menu at Bir Chattala features a wide variety of Bengali dishes, including biryani, kebabs, curries, and desserts. The food is all made fresh to order, and the portions are generous. The prices are also very reasonable, making Bir Chattala a great option for both locals and tourists.

I had the opportunity to dine at Bir Chattala a few months ago, and I was very impressed with the food. I started with the chicken tikka kebabs, which were perfectly cooked and juicy. For my main course, I had the lamb biryani, which was flavorful and aromatic. I finished my meal with the gulab jamun, which was sweet and delicious.

Overall, I had a great dining experience at Bir Chattala. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Bir Chattala to anyone visiting Chittagong.

Here are some pros and cons of Bir Chattala:

Pros:

Delicious food

Generous portions

Reasonable prices

Friendly service

Large and spacious interior

Outdoor terrace

Cons:

Can be crowded on weekends

Reservations are recommended

Not the best place for a romantic dinner

Overall, I would give Bir Chattala a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great place to go for a delicious meal of Bengali cuisine at a...

Deshi food can never go wrong. Ended up having comfort food at @birchattala because I’ve heard lots of reviews about their food. 💢Plain rice 💸Price : 45 tk 💢Daal 💸Price : 50 tk 💢Murgi Rosha Bhuna 💸Price : 190 tk (Half) 💢Loitta fish fry 💸Price : 200 tk 💢Alu Bhorta 💸Price : 55 tk 💢Chingri Bhorta 💸Price : 75 tk 💢Tomato Bhorta 💸Price : 55 tk 💢Dhonia Pata Bhorta 💸Price : 55 tk 💢Cha with Bela Biscuit 💸Price : 80 tk This was the first place we stopped by for having lunch as we were very hungry. Didn’t want to experiment with items , so we ordered the basic ones. Since it was lunch hour , the rush was insane. We didn’t get a single table in the restaurant. Later the server suggested us to sit to the next restaurant as it was their sister concern and we can order the same food. The Loitta fish fry was to die for. So soft and delicious. Literally melts inside your mouth. The bhortas were quite different, not too spicy but still works for me. The chicken curry was little bit fried first and later cooked in a curry that’s why the taste differed to me. Ended our meal with warm Cha with bela biscuit. Trust me having bela biscuit is must when you’re in Chattogram. The warm cup of milk tea will vanish away all your stress in just few sips. The strong liquor does the work. Our total bill was around 1000 tk and we were fully satisfied. One thing I must say that the restaurant is so pretty and vibrant. Gives you full deshi vibes. Make sure to wear traditional clothes to click some beautiful pictures. Recommended ✅. . . . . . . . . . . . #deshifood #chicken #chickenlover #chickenlove #chickenlovers #daal...

Heard good things about it so went in to try yesterday at lunch time with three friends. Didn't have to wait long to get a table. The waiter was responsive and very polite. We ordered Kachchi Biriyani and Borhani. Wasn't impressed with Kachchi at all, I found it quite dry with a little smoky taste which didn't really work for Kachchi. I have had Kachchi in many places so know a thing or two about them. Also the meat wasn't quite enough compared to the proportion of rice. Also I wasn't happy about the fact that didn't have any beef item. Borhani was absolutely spot on though. Had a 'paan' afterwards which was really nice. The restaurant had a retro decor which in itself was quite quirky but not sure how it goes with the theme of 'biye barir khawa' (wedding food). I haven't seen many 'biye bari' where you sit on a long wooden bench with cassette player having over your head and I have been to many village weddings! I think the design theme was very confused except for the hand washing drums (sinks) outside which reminded me of village wedding. Overall it's a good concept but execution was poor and food certainly needs to improve (judging by Kachchi standard alone).

Actually I took my friends there to have some light snacks actually...then saw that they added the big kabab platter to the menu after it's success run on iftar Bazar.. We were going for the regular platter but I suggested to go for the big one,it was a mistake as four of us couldn't finish it fully and 3 piece of Tanduri chicken were left and we took it by parcel. I'd say this is perfect for 5 persons easily... Now the cons. * All the nuns were dry af .. doesn't matter whether its garlic or sesame nun...every single one of them were dry and hard *Mashroom wasn't good. * The kebabs were average apart from a single one which I forgot the name off. Pros *If friends are hanging out and want to eat kababs...you should get this but bare in mind that you'll really enjoy the experience of sharing kababs with friends and the platter is beautifully decorated,so the experience is great. Don't come if you're gourmet and only coming for the taste,in that case the experience won't be good I'm afraid. Oh and the faluda was average, though all of my friends liked it a lot.

I'd not say the food's quality was up to the mark because they were not even close to being just okay. Bir chattala lost its authenticity, professionalism and my respect. Even though i'm not a professional chef, i still can figure out that they use too much oil in their curries, especially in bengali items. All the items, such as "Hash er rosha vuna, murgi rosha, Dim er korma" those tasted almost same to me. It's like they've cooked these items altogether on a same pan with same masala and just served us on different plates. Less salt was used in curries so they tasted very bland. We ordered "koral mach er do peyaja" and my mom found fish scales while eating the piece and it was so bitter due to incorrect manner of slicing the fish. Though they didn't charge us for that plate, still do they even taste their own food after cooking these? Our bengali cuisine is known be spicy, tangy. not just some made up chinese- bengali fushion sweet tasting bland dishes.
