We made a quick visit only to try one of the chui jhal dish as We've heard so much about chui jhaal dishes. We ordered beef chui jhaal, aloo and dim bhorta, dal, and Phirni. What we liked : Their service is prompt and good, and staff is polite and keen to serve location is reasonable with ample seating for a small eatery
What we disliked: the bhorta portions, especially dim bhorta was miniscule, and taste of both dim and aloo bhorta were identical - dim bhorta also had more aloo in it all the food was cold - rice, dal, bhorta, and the beef dish was cold as well. The second serving of rice was although hot as it came form their home kitchen at that moment the dal was watery, so much so that it had 98% water and the rest a bit of onion, garlic, and few shreds of dal the biggest disappointment was the beef chui jhaal dish - the beef was slighty undercooked, quite chewy and the chui jhal flavour or zest was very minimal. The beef dish had more oil than gravy. For 220 tk per piece of beef, this only deserves a one-time trial; that too if you're very keen to try the khulna speciality or else give it a pass as this place doesn’t live up to the hype of a chui jhal dish
Overcall cost for 2 people was 580 tk, 2 pieces of beef (৳220), cold dal ৳20, and the rest isn’t worth describing. Only saving grace was the phirni and the...

Read moreI was looking for a place where i could get the taste of Chui Jhal recipe, an authentic recipe from South east Bangladesh. I had this food in 2016 when i made my last visit in Khulna and ended my journey as a wildlife biologist there. When i heard about this place, i was so excited. At last i could cherish my thirst for chui jhal recipe! But believe me,the food they provided was not original cuisine. They used Chui spice but they did not put it as much as like i had it in Khulna. Beside this, original food should be more spicy and hot than the one...
