The service ruined the whole experience. We were in a group of 4 friends, everyone ordered coffee and cakes and we were trying to have a talk. It was very difficult to listen what the person next to me was saying because the music was too loud. I went to the attendant and I kindly asked “excuse me, could you please turn the music down a little, it’s really difficult to talk with my friends” and she replied “That’s not the point of this place, and the music is not loud”. She made me feel very bad. And yes, the music was ok at the bar, but the speaker was right on top of our table. So, apparently this coffee place is not a place for hanging up with friends. Eat your cake and shut up. Later on she asked us to leave because they were closing. We were choosing another place to go and 2 minutes later she turned the music very loud to kick us out. Read moreWhen it comes to cafés to study, Cuperus has a special place in my heart for many reasons.
The café has a very nice atmosphere to study. No loud music is played and there are usually free tables with enough outlets. Usually, there are also many people around who are just studying, and not that many are having loud conversations.
All items on the menu are delicious. I really enjoy their cappuccino, but also all of their cakes and snacks are freshly-made and very tasty. There are also savory options for lunch.
However, when it comes to the prices, it is not the cheapest, compared with other cafés in the surroundings. A café latte costs 4.30, and it comes in a big mug, but it is still too expensive. Tea is the same price but even more disappointing since it is even smaller.
So I can say that I clearly like going to this café, and I would go definitely more often if it weren't...
Read moreAntwerp's Cuperus Horsey - Koffiebar at Paardenmarkt 28. They are all about excellent coffee, though you may have to pay a little more—around 5 euros for their renowned dirty chai. But I promise, it's well worth the money! Not only is the taste superb, but the latte art is a delightful surprise.
It can get rather crowded, especially with students, so it could be a little difficult to locate a seat during popular times. But don't worry, if you're in a rush, they've got quick takeout choices for you.
Cuperus Horsey's welcoming atmosphere and team are what truly set it apart. It resembles a little community center where you may relax and converse while sipping coffee.
Overall, it's totally worth checking out if you're into quality coffee and a laid-back vibe. Despite a few seating challenges and slightly higher prices, it's a gem in Antwerp's...
