Highlander Cafe — Restaurant in Antwerp

Enjoyed the friendly welcoming atmosphere in this Scottish themed, traditional British pub in the middle of old Antwerp. Stadswaag was the old weighing house square. If your map doesn't show it, its at the junction of RaapStraat and Lange Brilstraat. With three floors of superbly decorated space, this "cafe" could easily serve as a venue for a corporate function.When I was there they had just finished a sitting for over 50 people and another for 30, yet still open to non bookers with the regulars at the bar eager to chat about about anything in just about any language! A great bar in one of Antwerp's more cozy districts. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth the detour to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Because it's right in the centre of the students quarter it might be loud and noisy sometimes, but most times, especially during summer, the Stadswaag is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places of the old town.

A great selection of beers and whiskey await the visitor, as well as a kind and cheerful lord and mistress of the manor. Getting served on the terrace outside can take a while, but you just have to pop in and tell them and they're right out...

This bar is one of the best, if not the best in Antwerp. It’s a hidden gem, and everyone should go and visit it. Elaine and George were very nice and warm to their clients. The vibe of the bar is very cozy, and its aesthetic gives always a movie-like scene. Their Sunday Breakfast is absolutely a must try, it’s reasonably priced, and yum guaranteed.
