We basically googled restaurants more or less close to our hotel. We both met 2017 in Thailand. I have lived there for almost 2 years and still traveling to Thailand on a regular basis. We both live Thai food. On the way to the restaurant we first thought it's closed or at a different location. But if you just walk into the tiny backyard you will find a metal door looking like the entrance to a Garage painted with a golden dragon. Open it! As soon as we stepped into the restaurant - Wow! It's absolutely beautiful. This place has such an insane and individual vibe. We loved it from the first minute. It was quiet busy and the service was a little bit slow. But all of them were very friendly. They have a small but sorted menu which is changing from time to time. I have chosen the Chiang Mai Curry because I was starving for it since a couple of weeks. Just to be fair, I had better dumplings in my life but they absolutely have a taste of Thailand which is lovely. Especially the beef, shrimp and mushroom one. My friends Curry with Tofu was the best he ever had. His words, not mine. Mine was really good but there were some ingredients missing if you know "the real Chiang Mai Curry" which is called Khao Soi. If you have never been to Thailand - try it! If you know the original, maybe choose...
Read moreOn a very stormy Sunday night we had a reservation in the gem this that is truly hidden. Siam Sally is located at the back of a passageway, behind a garage door. The setting is a cosy and green scenery, with many colourful paintings and artefacts. A varied and concise menu is wheeled to the table, and the kind host makes you feel welcome while guiding you through the options. Every table is different, but look cosy in their own way. Our dinner was disturbed by the bad weather but somehow the proprietors made it seem like only a minor inconvenience that their roof started leaking and the electricity almost gave way. The dinner was delicious, fairly priced and every dish could hold its own. I recommend coming here if you want to have a good time in a relaxed atmosphere. It even has a pool table and a swing, for the...
