Le Pain Quotidien — Restaurant in Antwerp

Use to be regular client there for many years...then just stopped going there at least for 3 years.Why cos an extreme lame, slow service, sometimes waiting more then 50 min and really high price... Start giving it a chance again few months ago....To get exactly the same feeling again. Absolutely apathetic, arrogant, braty waitress...literally showed her with finger in the menu.What I want and she repait it, to bring me something completely different. And when I asked to change she was so irritated and even laughing at me...in audition she add some scrambled eggs.Who were extremely overcooked and taste like cardboard. Bottom line paid like 24 euro for a slice of bread, witch was supposed to be toast, but it wasn't.Some avocado, miny bow overcooked eggs and few tiny slice of zalm .And some brat who has not capacity to place one order correctly, was arrogant instead of apologies... In total our bill was like 70 euros cos we also get dessert and 2 drinks each. Thanks for ripping us as usual... Btw we also had to change table, cos the airco was dripping from...

The overall ratings for this restaurant are, unfortunately, spot-on — it’s really not great. I hadn’t planned to eat here, but my first-choice breakfast spot was closed, so I gave this place a try. Big mistake.

I ordered their “new” baked eggs, which were rubbery, flavorless, and a little sad. To make matters worse, my latte somehow came with egg in it. Yes, egg. The waitress seemed more puzzled than apologetic, which didn’t help.

The only bright spot was the cheese plate — generous portions of a soft cheese and a mild young yellow cheese that were actually pretty tasty.

Overall, I’d say keep your expectations low. Maybe grab a pastry to go if you’re desperate, but otherwise… there are far better options around.

I used to be a regular customer but now only come when I'm visiting Belgium. Went to this pain quotidien twice this week and am not inclined to go back. Service wasn't good: had to go up to order twice, waitresses deliver food while all the stuff from the previous customer is still on the table and they don't clear it away while walking back with an empty tray, deliver soup with no spoon.. they seem a bit clueless to be honest? Most disappointing was the cappuccino, the size of the cup is tiny, coffee tastes bland and they charge a fortune. Basket of bread felt stingy whereas they used to be great. Not sure what happened to this place. A shame, maybe have a word with the staff and sort out the coffee? I do love how PQ cares about sustainability and does a lot of...
