After visiting another park in the area, the kids wanted to see another park closer to home but with more things to play on. So we opt to visit this exquisite park, all hidden away between several buildings. It is a lovely green space, where you could simply jog, walk your dog, play with your kids or simply have a picnic for two or more. The park has a variety of things to do for kids, from skateboarding, to climbing up on ropes, to swinging, to venturing up and down structures. It has a huge sandpit surrounding all the kids playing areas. It has lots of trees and green open spaces for kids and families to play ball games or to just sit and watch the kids play. It has a lake as well and green banks around the lake.

Read moreThis park used to be a peaceful place, but over the past couple of years, it's become increasingly difficult to enjoy. Groups of teenagers, often on electric scooters, drift through and raise a lot of dust on the gravel paths, which happens every few minutes.
Since last year, there's also been a noticeable rise in litter, including alcohol bottles. I've also seen rats more frequently near bushes and corners. Many of the park visitors seem to be newcomers to the city and it feels like Stad Antwerpen doesn't cares at all.

Read moreNice park for the kids and for a short run, but it used to be cleaner and better maintained, although recently there has been more efforts to do so. At night it seems to be populated by asocial pigs, especially on weekends, and you do run into heaps of litter the next day. Many inconsiderate people in this country, and too much tolerance towards bad behaviour (there is a large police station on the south-east corner of the park). This is the only park in Antwerp center, so I hope the municipality keeps a good housekeeping to continue to make this park a welcoming environment for all...
