Cafe-Cafe — Restaurant in Bruges

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! VERY RUDE MAN WHO GREETS YOU WHEN ENTERING. We were recently on a weekend Christmas break in Bruges. I have to say the service everywhere else was perfect except this cafe. We walked in and not even a hello. "What you want?!" The man barked! "A coffee please?". He preceded to say that it had to be takeaway and that we weren't allowed to sit down just for drinks. I said that I would maybe have some lunch but he said "NO MAYBE". How am I supposed to know if I would like any if their food if I haven't been offered a menu? Loads of places to eat so do yourself a favour and go elsewhere!!!!! See Lucy's review as this was almost identical to our experience.... Edit. Owner has replied saying family of 6. There were only 2 of us. Both wanting drinks and wanting to look at the menu for lunch. No menu offered to us without a verbal agreement beforehand of assurance we would have lunch. This man in the photo physically assaulted me, and attempted to spit at me. Most likely, he’s the owner of the place. He grabbed my shoulder after making me and my girlfriend sit on a side table - while giving better treatment to other customers. When I confronted him, he used Arabic slurs at me, perhaps. Later, when my girlfriend returned from the washroom, he grabbed my collar and asked me to pay 2 euros. I took his photo and he grabbed my phone, holding it hostage. My girlfriend gave him the money and I had to scream to take my phone back. Later on, he charged at me and attacked me physically, thereby also spitting. Firstly, he should apologize and not scam tourists for 2 euros. A customer is allowed to leave if slurs are used against them, and not paying anything. When I called the police, they did not pick up. I hope the police sees this review and I noticed he harassed other customers too (from other reviews).

The worst service in the area. The server was watching videos on his phone, with the volume on loud, while patrons waited for service. He was the only one there and was completely rude. Hate that we wasted our time in here. Reply: Sorry, wrong people, must’ve been the other people you were rude to. Nice try with the redirection of your poor service. Honesty isn’t your strong suit.
