La Dentelliere — Restaurant in Bruges

Absolutely wonderful service and very accommodating to our late arrival, we popped in at around 9pm and the lovely waiter (didnt get name but was very charming) seated us right away before last orders! Food was beautiful and didnt take too long to arrive, even though was still busy. Some of the best mussles and steaks we've had, goats cheese starter great also! I never leave reviews, but honestly, after a very impromptu trip to Bruges on our way to Holland, they really made our evening feel special and we left very happy! We cant wait to come back and visit again!

Lugar para no volver. Típico sitio para turistas. Fuera tienen dos menús. Uno de 15,90 euros y otro de 21,90, en sendas pizarras anunciados. Dos platos y postre. Tres primeros y tres segundos a elegir y postre el que te dan. Cuando te sientas te ponen la carta y el menú y... El de 15,90 no aparece. Cuando viene el camarero,, que se defiende bastante bien en castellano, y le preguntamos por que no está el menú de 15,90 que anuncian fuera, se limita a decir " si también es posible el menú de 15,90". Curiosa estrategia para que los más prudentes, poco exigentes o vergonzosos se corten y se que queden con el otro. Pedimos ensalada de tomate. Con mozzarella. Nada que decir. Justa en cantidad pero el tomate sabía a tomate, y no a cámara. El segundo, pedimos la carne flamenca con patatas frítas pensando en el "typical Flemish dish", que es lo que el simpático camarero nos dijo. Las patatas precocinadas, de las de bolsa congeladas. Para paliar el desastre de patatas mi hija pidió si tenían Ketchup. ,La carne.... Un estofado con excesivo sabor a vino y simplemente comestible. El postre una exigua rodaja de una pasta sosa que en la carta figuraba como "Bavarois", y que estaba entre pudding y flan con textura de membrillo aguado, sobre el que habian vertido una suerte de syrope de frambuesa bastante malo. Al final pedimos la cuenta y, atención en vez de traerla en un ticket impreso nos dice el precio a tanto alzado mostrando al tiempo un papel nescrito a mano que hizo desaparecer en el bolsillo nde su camisa. Mi mujer que tiene instalado un detector de listillos, y al no cuadrarle el precio enunciado a tanto alzado y de viva voz, le dijo al camarero que le enseñará la cuenta. El tipo nos la enseña sin soltarla de la mano y vemos que nos pretendían cobrar 8 euros por una botella de 500cl de agua. Un atraco vamos. El tipo nos dice que se había equivocado y que ese era el precio de la de litro. En fin típico sitio de calidad baja...

Great food, great service, child-friendly! Some restaurants look less than thrilled when you approach with a baby-carriage at dinner time, but not so la dentelliere. We were warmly received and the waiter was very helpful in suggesting where to sit with the baby carriage and removing the table cloth etc. At the same time, we received knowledgable advice about which wine to take with our dinner, which turned out to be absolutely delicious (both the wine and the meal!). I heartily recommend this lovely restaurant to anybody looking for a tasty and welcoming dining experience, especially parents with need of a bit of extra...
