Well, it's actually pretty funny and sad at the same time that the owner of this place kicked me out after 1.5h because I was working with my laptop and it wasn't very profitable for his business. This dude actually complained about the electricity I was consuming 😂, lol. You should be careful people for the 45W of power, you could be responsible for the bankruptcy of the store!
But really, who could judge him when the price for a coffee is around 5€ and the marginal profit is 4.5€ ? At least he was honest about it, I give him that. He just wants to make money.
Besides that, the chairs were pretty uncomfortable (probably that's a good strategy for fast consumption) and the coffee wasn't so good.
The waitresses however were really kind and charming :)
Overall, from a business wise point of view and from a consumer's side I think 1 star is enough for the service they provide. Wouldn't recommend this place to my friends or to...
Read moreThe staff is super friendly, and the place looks really nice inside. The food and the drinks are quite good as well, so I don't really have much to complain about. The only thing that bothers me, and the reason behind the 3 stars, is that they try too hard to be a barista, almost to the point of being pretentious. I'm ok when a bar or cafe claims to have good coffee. However, here they really over sell it to a point of being ridiculous if you really like coffee. A simple example is the espresso. At least in my experience they never heat the cup before serving it. I have the feeling (I can't confirm though), that because of that, they serve the coffee a bit hotter than it should, burning the coffee in the end. These small details, which any family owned cafe in Southern Europe knows, seem to be a hit and miss here. It's a pity because aside of that it's...
Read moreI recently visited a coffee bar in Gent and had an exceptional experience. The coffee is undoubtedly some of the best I've had in the city—rich, flavorful, and perfectly brewed. The friendly staff made the visit even more enjoyable, always ready with a smile and great recommendations. The atmosphere is just right, with a nice vibe and music that's not too loud, allowing for easy conversation.
The boterhammen (sandwiches) were delicious and freshly made, perfect for a light meal. It's a great place to hang out, whether you're there for a quick coffee or to spend some time relaxing. There's even a big table where a group of guys was enjoying a game of board games, adding a unique and welcoming touch to the space. Overall, it's a fantastic spot in Gent that I...
