I was pleasantly surprised by Way Coffee Roasters in Ghent. As a non-vegan, I walked in completely unaware of the cafe's plant-based focus. However, this didn't detract from the experience at all.
The flat white, made with oat milk, was surprisingly delicious. The coffee itself was rich and flavorful, and the oat milk blended seamlessly. It was clear that the coffee beans, roasted in-house, were of exceptional quality.
To accompany my coffee, I ordered a cream croissant, and I was blown away. It was buttery, flaky, and the cream was the perfect complement. I couldn't believe it was vegan!

Read moreThis review is only about the coffee/service. I went to Way (to Go) and I did not know it was vegan/vegetarian. After I ordered my coffee, the barista asked me to pay but I did not know he was not going to use real milk in my coffee until after I paid, when I saw that he was using "alpro this is not milk". It was too late and I had already paid for an expensive coffee but I decided to give it a try. I was with friends and they experienced the same disappointment as me. The coffee was not nice as it is with real milk (in our opinion). We would have appreciated if the barista would have told us that the coffee was going to be prepared with an alternative to milk. The tag vegan should have been clearer...
