They have an English menu, welcome credit card, also provide wifi and have a great selection of beers - I'm sold!

I found the service engaging and pleasant. They provide a few crisps to nibble upon whilst sipping a beer and awaiting the meal, enjoying the background music - an eclectic choice of somewhat obscure 80s sounds that I found nostalgic and pleasing.

On my first visit I had "frietjes met stoofvleessaus" which is basically beef stew with chips, the beef being slow-cooked in beer. I've had something similar over in Holland but I found this stew quite sweet, and with the plain chips it became a bit of a boring meal - no condiments are provided on the table (I had to ask for vinegar and salt for the chips)

I returned for another meal a few days later but this time opted for the burger, served with a cajun onion topping, accompanied by chips and side-salad. It was an okay meal; once the topping and accompaniments had fallen off the burger I found it somewhat tasteless; just pure ground beef with no seasoning - it needed something to pep it up, such as bacon lardons or herbs.

It's a pleasant place to relax; as it emptied towards the night I didn't feel rushed to leave so kicked back with another beer or two. Despite my misgivings about the meals I had, I'll still return to try out another dish...

We went for Vol-au-vent with (Belgian) Fries... and were not disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and one gets a nice portion, with nice size chunks of chicken.

A side salad and chunky fries accompanies the order.

Drinks wise, there is plenty of choice of beers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Also the house wines (red / white) are very OK.

The service is attentive, quick and friendly. In Summer, there is outdoor seating.

Parking around this location is a nightmare.

Price wise, it might not be the cheapest but one gets value for money here.

During weekends, this place is full at diner time, so reservation is recommended.

I would like to give this restaurant a 2 star rating just because the service was bad. We’re also rushed to leave way before closing time.
