An overall disappointing experience.
Ambience: A bit shabby and worn out interior, ok music.
Service: French only with good intentions but erratic execution. Half of the order was served 20 minutes later as it was likely forgotten (or maybe they had to catch a trout from the river, first...) On the positive side we got a beer for free to compensate for the delays.

Read moreLe Bistro some has outside tables along the main road through Houffalize. We took a table next to the road, not realising traffic would become busier during our dinner. Although there is a division between the road and the tables, it feels a bit strange to sit next to cars driving by.
Now turning to the positives of our dinner. We ordered trout (most likely from the region) with almonds. The dish was very good. I combined it with an Achouffe, from a brewery about 5 km away. The deserts were nicely presented and tasteful.
