De Central — Restaurant in Jette

This used to be a place that was famous for it's good meat and brasserie kitchen, where I came rather often. After a few less good impressions I went back last week to give it another try. It was a big disappointment, and this was truly the last time now for me. The menu says: entrecote 350g. Well guess what: the meat that I got was probably around 150g! I can understand that people play around with quantities, but less than half of what it is supposed to be is really not acceptable. Furthermore, I ordered saignant and received bien-cuit. What a shame. And it was not only the case for my piece of meat, it was the same for my wife's order. On top of that, the service was very slow. When we came in, it took at least 20 mins before I could order a drink. During dinner, I tried many times to order a second drink, but after 20 mins waving and making signs, we simply gave up and...

One of the nicest classic Belgian restaurants in this area of Brussels. The steak here is incredible. The service friendly. The prices very reasonable. The beer menu excellent. A great terras to sit on a nice sunny day and to top things off they have an amazing jazz band every wednesday. Don't expect fancy food here. Just enjoy the atmosphere and the classic Belgian dishes. Just came back from it. Strange...coz the food was good. But... ... ... we had to wait +- 30 minutes for every ordering. I can fully understand when the waiter says "we are under staff right now". Except when this is obviously the boss and that eventually, the bill is 129 Euros? With all the smiles, the time we have waited, the other staff people who had to temper every other customers...Well, the guy did not do a single gesture. So, go...
