Le Phare — Restaurant in Knokke-Heist

The worst service at a restaurant I have ever experienced in my entire life. Not only did the rude waitress forget my partner’s order, but she came back 45 minutes later to ask him what he ordered again. She did not apologize, and when I asked how long my order would take (since we already waited for 45 mins) she said “soon” and walked away. After 1.5 hours of waiting with zero appetizers, our food came out, barely warm. The waitress did not say anything when giving us our food, she did not even look at us. I could not believe how unprofessional, arrogant, and poorly run this establishment is. We asked for the check 3 times after quickly finishing our meal, as we were so upset and wanted to leave. The lukewarm food was just okay, certainly not good enough to justify such a long wait time To make matters worse, we overheard another table nearby being asked to leave because they weren’t dressed properly, which seemed odd because everyone looked to be dressed nicely. WE WAITED FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR TO GET OUR FOOD! WE JUST ORDERED MUSSELS AND SALMON. AFTER 1 HOUR THE MANAGER CAME TO US SAYING, "YOU ARE THE ONE THAT ORDERED SALMON RIGHT?" DIDN'T WAIT FOR MY PARTNERS ANSWER AND JUST SAYING "OHHH LOOK THE DELIVERY GUY JUST ARRIVED"

HE LOOKED BACK AND DIDN'T OFFER IF WE STILL WANT IT WORST MANAGER TO HANDLE THIS SCENARIO AND THE WAITRESS IS SO IRRESPOSIBLE TO NOT TO SAY TO US THAT THE SALMON IS NOT AVAILABLE AND WE ARE SO EASY PEOPLE TO CHOOSE ANOTHER AVAILABLE FOOD.

BECAUSE AS SOMEONE FROM HOSPITALITY WE TRIED OUR BEST TO CALM OURSELVES. AND WAITED FOR THE FOOD.

NOW WHEN THE WAITRESS WAS TAKING THE MUSSELS, BECAUSE SHE IS SO CLUMSY, THE MUSSEL SHELL WENT TO MY PARTNERS WHITE POLO SHIRT. I KNOW WE ARE SO LUCKY RIGHT??? AND SHE JUST SAY (SORRY) OF COURSE WHAT ESLE CAN WE DO.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. AND I'M SORRY TO TELL THIS BUT AS SOMEONE WORKED AT HOSPITALITY.

Deeply inappropriate and aggressively gendered behavior. I went in with friends & one of my best dressed friends - he was told to button his shirt in an aggressive way. I was wearing a low-cut dress and received no comment. The double standard was obvious and disgusting.

The staff were rude not just to us but to others I worked with. We were working next door and just wanted to eat - nothing about our appearance was inappropriate.
