Put 19 — Restaurant in Knokke-Heist

Very bad experience..not very clean given the COVID-19 post confinement situation and social distancing is questionnable. We had to deal with a rather unpleasant, insulting and aggressive drunk «recurrent» and likely known customer with no or little assistance from the management and staff beside «we will be calling a taxi for him».. but nothing followed !! we had to interrupt our evening at the terrasse and leave because of the insulting behaviors Never again !! And the bill ? questionable ! With few items on the bill which we did not order .. so check...

Toujours à Knokke, et toujours en compagnie de mon épouse, nous nous sommes rendus au restaurant/taverne Put 19. Une terrasse couverte, et à l'intérieur, une sorte de vieux troquet ancien, avec une vieille déco toujours sur le thème du Golf. Accès avec ma chaise roulante, on nous laisse nous installer à la table de notre choix. Un personnel correct, poli, sans plus. Il faut parler Néerlandais mais quelques efforts en français ou en anglais. La carte en Néerlandais mais compréhensible. Un vaste choix de bières à la pompe et en bouteille (y compris orval, triple karmeliet,...) et quelques vins de grande qualité. Le prix est un peu élevé. J'ai opté pour une tagliatta de boeuf et mon épouse pour un filet pure sauce poivre. La viande était de grande qualité et le repas fut délicieux accompagné d'une frite. Nous avons été repus et n'avons donc pas pris de dessert mais seulement un bon café. Donc, un café/restaurant où l'on mange bien avec de bonnes boissons dans un cadre golfique que l'on aime ou pas sur des chaises en bois basiques. A faire...

A wonderful stop while touring the tres chic Knokke Zoute with its prestene country villas, manicured gardens and exotic cars.

Put 19 presents a friendly bar with a wide selection on tap. Outdoor seating is available and service is quite friendly, even for those not of the local country club.

Try the deep fried meatballs with mustard...
