What an incredible discovery my boyfriend and I made yesterday when we dined at this restaurant. The service was impeccable; our waitress was not only charming and attentive but also exceptionally professional, making us feel welcome from the start.

A highlight of the evening was meeting the chef, who personally presented and served us his dishes. Each plate was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing both his culinary expertise and his evident passion for cooking. The menu featured flavorful and perfectly prepared dishes, including fresh fish and delicate grey shrimp, as well as fèves du marais (broad beans), an ingredient that requires great skill to peel and cook properly. The chef's commitment to seasonality was clear, with ingredients such as wild garlic (ail des ours) and sweet peas (petits pois) bringing a fresh, vibrant touch to the meal.

To accompany our meal, we enjoyed an exceptional bottle of Hervé Dubois Blanc de Blanc champagne, a refined choice from a small producer in the Champagne region. Its elegant flavor perfectly complemented the dishes.

For dessert, the chef served a reimagined version of tiramisu. It was an exquisite take on the classic, flawlessly executed and absolutely delicious.

Voor 170 euro mag het toch een pak meer zijn..

Het hapje en voorgerecht waren zeer lekker, het hoofdgerecht maar gewoontjes.

De service was echter heel wisselend. Mijn vriendin had niet echt een idee welke wijn ze wou en heeft een beschrijving van een druif gegeven. Waarna jullie voorstelde om een wijntje te proeven, echter is er gewoon een glas wijn gegeven zonder verdere uitleg.

Daarnaast is er bij veel gerechten of drankjes geen introductie gegeven.

Ikzelf drink geen wijn maar er is mij ook geen alternatief voorgesteld (ik had gerust een cocktail willen drinken in de plaats).

De tafels naast ons werd regelmatig bijgevuld kwa drank maar bij ons is die vraag niet eens gesteld.

Er is ons niet gevraagd wat we van het eten vonden bij het afruimen en de vraag voor dessert kwam 10 minuten nadat de tafel volledig afgeruimd was.

U moet snappen dat het niet is omdat we wat jonger zijn en er iets minder "Knokke" uitzien dat wij niet deftig willen eten voor dit bedrag.

Meer zelfs, voor ons is deftig op restaurant gaan een veel grotere beleving dan jullie gemiddelde cliënteel. Zorg er dan ook voor dat wij een speciale avond hebben. Bij een hoop andere gastronomische restaurants lukt dit...

Stopped by this cosy bar for a drink, freezing Cold outside, nice and warm inside though. Colossal selection of wines and great choice of spirits and the knowledge to match the selection as well. Seated by one of the owners and served wine by the other. Highly recommended to stop in, friendly, welcoming and a beautiful restaurant as well. Nothing too much trouble...
