CAFÉ COLOMBIA 🇨🇴 — Restaurant in Schaerbeek - Schaarbeek

TL;DR - great coffee, chocolate, and empanadas. No baby changing station 🚼

Really happy with our visit. We were staying in an Airbnb nearby, and we were intrigued when we passed the café last night. Additionally, our Airbnb host both recommended the café in his guidebook and had coffee and chocolates from here available for guests.

We came to the café between 10AM-noon. The selection of coffees from around the world was impressive. We’d tried the Colombian coffee at the Airbnb, so I chose the Mexican coffee. My partner asked about the chocolate drinks, and decided on the “bombe de chocolate”, which was rich and delicious, plus perfect for a cute Instagrammable moment. We were feeling a bit peckish and asked if the empanadas were available at that time, and the server told us that they were available all day. We got an order of beef (there was also a veg option). They were typical fried Colombian empanadas and were served with a slightly spicy salsa that was so flavorful, we almost wanted to ask if they sold this as well!

If it wasn't for the distance from my house this would have been my favourite coffeeshop in Brussels. They brew their own coffee and they have a large variety! So good. Plus the interior is nice and cozy, and their empanadas is so good. You can order a vegetarian option, it it's truely tasty. One portion has 3 pieces and it's enough for one person. The coffee was good and freshly brewed. However, we were very bummed out the barista refused to speak English. My partner obviously didn’t understand the French barista but she kept speaking French to him and seemed annoyed. The least she could do, was say she doesn’t speak English or something. My partner is trying to learn Dutch and French, but talking to him in a high tempo, without any effort to make yourself comprehensible, does not...
