With so many authentic and delicious pizzerias in Brussels, Pizzeria Biga was a real disappointment. I live in the area and had been wanting to go for a while, especially due to the beautiful terrace in front of the Schaerbeek municipal building. However, unfortunately, this is another example of the extreme gentrification of this commune… The pizzas are okay, although they fall into the trap of overloading with too many ingredients, with flavors that do not really match or cancel esch other out. I was really disappointed by the “Pistacchiosa” pizza (pictured) in which the thin dough was completely soggy due to the excessice mozzarella. Nobody wants a wet pizza! But the main thing I found unacceptable were the prices. Most pizzas were 20-26€ except 1-2 basic ones. I find this absurd and cannot justify it with ingredient prices, given there are many excellent pizzerias in Bxl which offer high quality pizzas with a variety of prices. The pricing is insane also considering the average prices of the neighborhood… they are really targeting only a certain type of clientele, and very evidently so. Overall a disappointing experience. I will not come back & encourage you to visit one of the many other excellent Italian pizzerias...
Read moreThe pizza was top-notch, with a lot of original flavors: I will definitely remember Italia - the smoked paprika pizza, such an unusual mix! The entrance area is beautiful, but the rest of the interior is dark and majority of tables are very wiggly (unless on metal feet, which there are only a few). The service wasn’t the best unfortunately. After our meal, I ordered one more pizza to go and had to ask twice to receive it (total waiting time 40 minutes). Didn’t receive any apologies for that, only “they started cooking it now” after the second reminder, and no gesture from the restaurant to rectify the mistake. I felt quite disappointed at the end although the pizza was honestly great. What added to the disappointment was having to pay at the counter, in a cramped space with people arriving and others waiting for the pizza to go. I think the place has potential but it has to be managed better, since the asking price is on...
Read moreA perfect experience.
The food: I've had their pizza which won an award. The beauty of the ingredient association, the boldness of the combination, the quality of the ingredients, the dough... everything was perfect. Absolutely out of this world. I cannot wait to go back to try more pizza.
The service: every single staff was incredibly friendly. They ran out of bread for our straciattella but still managed to improvise something for us, went above and beyond to make us have a good time. Super fast as well while we were there on a Saturday evening.
The place is also quite nice with a back terrace although we did much more enjoy eating on the front terrace on the square which is super cosy and nice.
One of my best experience in Brussels. In my opinion - the best pizza in Brussels. Not your traditional one maybe - but they manage to respect the tradition with a little twist and to me this makes it incredible. Bravo to...
