Went here for a birthday (did not tell the staff). Good ambiance, friendly staff, clean and maintained bathroom.
The food was good, but ordering an entrée (sliced salami, it was very good) set us back in the order queue quite a bit. 2 tables that arrived quite a while after us had their food way before we did. Understandable but I got very hungry and watching the other tables enjoy the beautiful meat this establishment offers was torture.
The meat. We ordered 3 different meats: Ojo, Entraña and Brisket (was the suggestion of the day). By far the Entraña was the best, with the Ojo coming 2nd and the brisket (surprisingly) last. While still good, the brisket was flavorful but still a bit tough, not as juicy and tender as other better brisket cuts I've had. The Ojo was juicy but lacked a bit of salt, and the Entraña was absolutely spectacular ans flavorful.
The sides. The baked potato was underwhelming and the truffle-barbecued cauliflower was just okay. So passable but nothing to write home about.
I'm still giving the food 4 stars because it was objectively good and I'd be lying if I put any less than 4, but I was expecting much more from a meat-specialized restaurant.
A good option for a red meat craving, but you can find better in Brussels. I still recommend trying this restaurant as the staff and ambiance are very nice and make up for the otherwise just-lacking...
Read moreYou would expect good service at a place like this.
While we were waiting for our group to be completed, we asked to already see the menus and the waiter bluntly refused, saying “I will wait with that until you are complete” announcing in an annoyed tone he didn’t want to explain things twice.
It then went on the whole evening, every time the waiter came he was overly fussy and passively aggressive and made us feel unwelcome to the point where it became - frankly - really comical. I guess he started badmouthing us to his colleague, who then started imitating his rude behaviour (turning eyes when taking drink orders, throwing them on the table instead of distributing them)
The people here have serious ego problems and think they are superior to their customers. Im sorry but explaining menu items is literally your job, yes sometimes you will have to do it twice. Giving customers what they - politely- ask for is the essence of doing your job.
The food is tasty but the price doesn’t reflect the level of service one would expect for it.
The place overall unfortunately feels a bit amateurish. There are better places to eat good meat and be treated like...
Read moreWe recently visited Asado and decided to share a variety of dishes, starting with the Rubia Gallega Secreto and melted provolone, followed by the Ojo de Bife, Pluma Ibérica, and Wagyu as our mains. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée and tiramisu. Everything was amazing—full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and really well presented.
The service was great too. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly.
The only downside was that, while we were still eating, the staff started cleaning nearby tables (and maybe the bar?) with vinegar. The smell was pretty strong and distracting, which felt out of place for such a nice restaurant. I get that they want to be productive/ close early (though it wasn’t that late either) but it did take away from the overall experience.
All in all, the food and service were fantastic, but that cleaning smell definitely left a bit of a sour note on what was otherwise a...
