I called ahead to let them know I needed gluten-free food, I reminded them that I could only eat gluten free when I got there and they assured me at all times that this was no problem. I assumed because it is such a fancy restaurant they would know what they were talking about but I quickly found out that they did not. I got a ceviche topped up with some beer mousse, I asked the waitress and she again said it was gluten free. I insisted and she went to check and it turns out they just noticed that beer has gluten. And actually the chef came out to say all of their meals have soya sauce (which of course contains gluten) splattered around the kitchen. But that it only has “a little” gluten. I was in a work dinner so I couldn’t just leave so I had to suck it up. They then served me some of the courses (not all of them- and it was really awkward to sit there and watch people eat). It ended up being OK, but if I hadn’t insisted I would’ve ended being contaminated very badly. They should’ve been transparent about it since the beginning and I wouldn’t bother to go.
