We visited Ypres after collecting beer from Westvletern.

This is truly an awesome bar with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. When the owner found out we were in the area to pick up Westvleteren beer, he pulled out a 6 year old bottle for us to try for free. It was awesome. Staff & owner could not have made us more welcome. Over 4 nights we returned every night for service with a smile & going over and above to ensure our every requirement was accommodated. Contrary to other reviews, we found the prices to be a lot more affordable than the competition & a much wider range of beers available. We will definitely return on our next visit. Right next to The Menin Gate, we called in here after the ceremony and due to the staff, the people and the beer choice we stayed here for the rest of the evening.

Ypres closes pretty early so be careful about eating - we found a pizza place that was still open when we eventually left the bar otherwise we would have stayed hungry.

If ever I am Ypres again I would have no problems in spending a few...
