I stopped by Ochuna Restaurant, Bakery and Coffee Shop in Belize City and was blown away by the food, service, and overall vibe.
We were warmly welcomed, seated quickly with a cold glass of water, and handed menus right away. The staff was very kind, and the owner even came by personally to check in on us — a really nice touch!
Here’s what we ordered: • Ochuna Roll (8/10): Loved the krab sauce on the outside — even better with their spicy dragon sauce. • Plantain Shrimp Roll (9/10): Sweet + salty perfection. The plantain tied everything together beautifully. • Spicy Salmon Roll (9/10): So flavorful, especially when mixed with their signature sauces. • Tropicana Roll (9.5/10): Grouper topping was amazing — great texture and flavor. • Salmon Roll Breaded (10/10): Served hot with a delicious sauce — this was the best roll hands down.
I also got a non-alcoholic piña colada (possibly the best I’ve had in Belize!) and a fresh orange juice — definitely the best in the country. So fresh!
Food took a little while, but it was 100% worth the wait. Everything was delicious, service was excellent, and the place felt very inviting. Can’t...
Read moreI don’t give many one star reviews so that’s how you know they deserve it! This place is a total tourist trap and not even a good one. We had a pretty large group so I get that it will take a little longer to get food but we were waiting for over 2 hours before everyone in our group had their food. Half the group had finished eating before the other half even got their food and the servers forgot about over half the drinks. The gag was that even with half the table not having food or drinks, the servers and bartenders where hanging out and watching tv… not to mention that the place was completely empty except for our group and they still weren’t being attentive at all. The food itself was also straight up BAD! The pasta was cold when it came out, the rice and beans were so dry they were inedible, the salad was white (as opposed to green) the meat was unseasoned. YUCK!! Go somewhere else, find local food and enjoy that because I guarantee you won’t enjoy...
Read moreWe went for breakfast, thinking it would amaze me due to location. Asked for a Capuchino, was maybe 4oz, very, very sweet, Barista didn't ask if wanted sweetened, giving the Barista a -1, Giving the waiters a 1, did not know of the menu, as to what is included as ingredients. Last but not least, a lot of flies, they should try using a candle to chase the flies away from the tables, but when I say a lot of flies, we had to ask to takeout the food since was very uncomfortable to eat at premises. Price, is over rated for the service and food, and when I say overrated, I mean big time,. I pay for good service and product, accommodation, but this place shouldn't exist, atleast I can speak for breakfast, hope other services are not...
