I was next door trying to sleep. My friend and I en route to a dive destination. We walked through this place as the tourist music was going into the weee hours of A Sunday night and we could not sleep. We had walked down the beach to lay in a blanket and gaze at the moon. There was no sleep to be had in our beds.

The photos are the place next door Tipsy Tuna and the little bungalows were we stayed at Julia’s.

I am sure the food is tasty and the people friendly but it would be great if there was a bit more respect for the nearby people sleeping during the night.

In truth, the entire area is like an American centric tourist party destination. Not that I am against that but that is something one can do without leaving home. American style weekend party hard scene.

Some people travel to experience other worlds and cultures and some to experience themselves in an atmosphere similar to home but with permission to have fun. The over worked American programmed to contain their need to enjoy. Clearly my friend and I in the wrong place but we heard it is great so we wanted to check it out.

The places along this beach and town seem to cater mostly to the sadly overworked old school Americans.

Sending blessings out that our American society can change to include elderly and youth in family events and fun at home or in their home towns without shame so that when we travel we can actually experience the place and people In other cultures.

In all fairness this place provides exactly what many people seek out. They appear to do a...

For returning patrons: Prices have gone up (as of 11/23), and portion size has gone DOWN! Expect to pay at least BZ$2 more for almost everything. Some items increased by 50% (looking at you, nachitos).

Service is top notch, friendly, jovial and warm. Music and atmosphere are excellent. Tourists can expect to be solicited by several non-local artisans and merchants selling souvenirs and snacks.

Hawaiian Chicken Burger is delicious, as are the fish soft tacos (any flavor) and smoked fish dip. Daily lunch special for $14 (for now, says the staff...).

Come for the drinks and atmosphere and some unique menu items. Avoid for stewed chicken or other Belizean staples, as there are cheaper, more authentic options to be had from...

As a stand alone Barefoot was awesome!!! My drink the lobster grilled cheese the shrimp tacos all of it was super delicious. But if you’re reading this and thinking should I go here or the Tipsy Tuna. No doubt about it BAREFOOT BAREFOOT BAREFOOT. We went to TTUNA two days ago our first night here and honestly it was horrible. The food. Bad. The service bad and it took and I’m not exaggerating it took over an hour for French fries and tacos and the tacos were horrible. Enough about TTUNA Back to BF… the people at BF are so nice music vibe etc are awesome and the brownie bottom cheesecake was delicious 🤤 no need to think if you’re wondering where to go Barefoot is the CLEAR...

what a fun scene! I'm not much into bar scenes, so I wasn't optimistic I would like this place. but wow what a treat! we were there for their last night party before they closed for the off-season... fantastic drinks (tamarind margarita!), HUGE menu (wow the Belizean chicken stew Salbutes was delicious!), clean bathrooms, friendly scene, diverse people including lots of locals & people of all ages (from dancing 2 year olds to seniors), great DJ....right on the beach. if you are looking for something lively and fun, highly recommended! Our waiter Derick was GREAT, filled with helpful drink & food suggestions despite their being VERY busy

Quiet despite having a poster saying there would be an event. But it had just rained and was 4pm on a Saturday. Servers came but didn't seem intetested- maybe due to us sharing a dish and not racking up an alcohol bill. Was surprised to discover smoking was allowed inside. Must be cultural but I can't stand the smell so that was off putting. I may be too old for these places now haha I appreciated the colorful space and good ocean view. May come back if I feel up to a bar scene. I enjoyed the pistachio cheesecake. Meal was forgettable.
