I was actually turned away by the restaurant when I stepped in. They asked if I had a reservation and I said no. I was told the restaurant was full and there was no place for me, but I told them I wanted to try the food here and it was my last night in San Ignacio. They told me even if I wait I might have to wait for 2 hours for food to be served because there were like 2 tables of more than 10 pax. I told them I am willing to wait, and I quickly took order while the kitchen was preparing food for the first big table, and the second table would be arriving in 10 minutes. It went well cause they managed to get me a table in a corner and the food only took 30 minutes to arrive. Probably I ordered the easier dish to prepare. The butter and garlic shrimp was flavourful and I loved the sauce so much it helped me to finish all the rice. I loved the coconut rice as well it was so fragrant and delicious. I have to say they also serve one of the better shakes I have tried in Belize. Recommended and probably good to make reservations in...
Read moreOverall the food and drinks here are really good and I would come back. Our server was attentive and kind. Recommended by locals, the prices lean more towards tourist prices than local prices however theres a variety of "exotic" dishes/cuisines on the menu here outside of usual Belizean fare. Particularly recommend the lamb curry and stew chicken.
Came here twice while visiting, once for dine in and second time take out.
Tried the ceviche twice (one time shrimp, one time conch) and both times it was lackluster compared to other shrimp & conch ceviche we had from other restaurants. Too much onion, not enough seafood protein....do not recommend unless they change the recipe.
My friend ordered the creole fish when we dined in and received creole shrimp instead..I think the creole fish would've tasted better but overall it was an ok dish.
Thank you...
Read moreWe've been here before and everything was OK. Not stellar, bit ok enough to come back. Which tonight we did. Big mistake. After walking into what sounded like an Eagles concert on really garbage speakers, we sit. Only one other couple in the place on a Saturday night prime time and it's empty. But hey, we have the Eagles playing at volume 11. I put a drink order in. And after 15 minutes I have to go track down my beer. Then wait. And wait. Beers run dry and I have to find our waitress who is extremely interested in looking at her phone. I get another beer. FORTY FIVE MINUTES later, the waitress asked us what we ordered. WHAT?! We tell her against and doesn't write it down again. Off she goes. 20 min later, still no food.
I paid for 3 beers and we left after over an hour. Back to Guava Limb where they know what...
