Elvi’s came highly recommended to me and my sister as we were traveling in San Pedro.

Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the staff who promptly seated us even though it was in between lunch and dinner hours at the time we came in.

It was very hot outside that day, so right away we felt relief from the heat in the cool air conditioned restaurant. This was a huge plus for us.

The ambiance was relaxed with soft lighting and tasteful decor, creating a pleasant environment to enjoy a meal. The sand floor was definitely unique and made it feel like we were on vacation.

The menu featured a variety of options, which was perfect for us since I’m a vegetarian and my sister is not.

When we first sat down we were greeted by waiter in training. He was attentive and listened to my dietary needs. Once we ordered our drinks, another waiter, named Christian, took over our table.

Christian was very attentive! Once he heard that I was vegetarian he suggested I look at their special vegan menu. This menu was just what I needed. So many options for me to choose from. It was hard to choose just a few dishes.

We quickly received our drinks, a margarita and a mojito. The drinks were refreshing and a perfect start for us as it was so hot out.

With Christian’s recommendations my sister and I ended up ordering all vegetarian dishes to share.

We started off with the Caprese Salad. This was a perfect start to our meal and perfect on a hot day. The presentation was beautiful and it was delicious.

Next we had buffalo cauliflower bites. We definitely recommend them! Yum.

Next up was the vegetarian empanadas with a marinara sauce. These were amazing! These were the best empanadas we have ever had. We can’t stop talking about them. Order these! You won’t be disappointed.

We also decided to share the street corn. The corn was cooked perfectly and was delicious.

Everything we ordered was amazing!

Our waiter, Christian, was attentive throughout the meal. He checked in at appropriate intervals without being intrusive at all. His timing was always perfect.

The wait time for food was reasonable, and each dish was prepared beautifully.

We asked Christian for dessert recommendations. He recommended the key lime pie. Best decision ever! The pie came in a cute little mason jar filled with delicious layers of goodness. This was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. The best meal and dining experience we had while in San Pedro.

Thank you to Elvi’s and Christian for an unforgettable dining experience. We can’t wait to come back!

We’re already looking forward to...

I came to this place twice during my stay. The first night, I emailed them during the afternoon and asked if I could make a reservation for myself since my friend was arriving later, they mentioned they could only allowed me at 6pm. I made my way at around 6:30 and they sat me by the bar. I ordered a cocktail they have in the menu, was not the best. I asked for Esquite which they had on the menu to start, when they came back, they came with the Elotes. I told the lady that That’s not what I had ordered and the bartender who was taking care of me said that they didn’t have the esquite and That’s why they had brought the elotes instead. I looked at him without saying a word for some seconds and asked if he didn’t think it was convenient to ask me if I wanted that before they made the decision of bringing something I didn’t order. I ended up accepting it. Worst Elotes I’ve had . I’ve been to Mexico and I have tried them in many different restaurants even. In the states, and these ones, you don’t need to try. I also ordered the octopus that night, the one on the appetizer menu. That was definitely delicious. The conch fritters were delicious as well. We needed up not having main courses that night. (We because my friend arrived to the restaurant at some point. We went back on Monday night. We called to see if they had availability and they said yes. We ordered some tamarin margaritas. Those were delicious I again ordered the esquites and the server told me they didn’t have it and that it was taken off the menu. I showed him the menu and said: I see it’s here on the menu still. And he said that they could make it for me but on the Elotes and I cut cut the corn myself, and when I asked why they couldn’t do it themselves, he said that they didn’t have the ingredients. That was after he told me to cut the corn from the Cobb myself. We ended up ordering some appetizers and main entrees. Everything was delicious, one of the best grilled octopuses I’ve tried. Other than the problem with the esquite, everything went well. I hope if I ever go back, they have...

We heard of this place from a frequent visitor and put it on our must try list. They don't take reservations, and they are always busy. We got here at 5pm and thenplave already were more than half full. The server was quick and precise with what we wanted.

The menu was a bit intimidating at first with so many options and prices. After a quick bite of their banana bread, we ended up settling with the conch fritters, street corn, and chichi chowder to start. The main courses were the seafood special and Mexican steak.

The drinks were quick and good. The foods were mostly great but a few misses. We love the conch fritters. They came out piping hot with 2 different sauces. They were delish.

The street corn has a nice sauce and smokey flavors, but that's about it. I was expecting the corn to be more sweet and seasoned. Then again, I can't fault them if it's not corn season. It doesn't taste like frozen either.

The chichi chowder was the best of all the dishes we had. Though it's more broth consistency than of a chowder. It had great seafood flavor with potatoes, sweet corn, and TWO lobster tails. They were not rubbery even though they were sitting in that hot broth. Super sweet, meaty, and succulent.

The seafood special was good but had a few issues. For over $120, there were 3 pinky sized shrimp, small 6 oz filled of fish, 1 half thumb sized plantain, and the lobster tasted mushy, which is usually a sign that is not fresh. Had we not ordered the chichi chowder, we wouldn't have that vast contrast. Though the fish and the veggies were perfectly cooked.

The steak were cooked to medium rare like we ordered. Steak has a great grill flavor and seasoning. Veggies were great.

Overall, we felt that the most spendy dish of all didn't live up to the quality one would expect. However, we feel that other dishes were enough to earn our 4...
