Happy’s Tequilaria — Restaurant in San Pedro Town

Happys Tequilaria is nice spot if you’ve just flown in from America and need a spot that feels like a slice of the USA with familiar food. Cool beer list. Cocktails are interesting and creative but are a little watered down, maybe shake them less long and serve some of them in rocks glasses instead of collins and use less ice. We got the burger buy one get one special, they were good! Only problem we had was with the service. The lady that owns the place was nice and welcoming on first meeting ( even waived at us out the window as we were passing to go to our lodgings when we first arrived on the island) but through service, she seemed short tempered with us when it came to explaining the menu and ordering. It would be really nice if she had hard copy menus instead of just looking at the menu posted on the wall of the restaurant. We live north of the bridge but drove about 30 minutes south based on word of mouth! We were not disappointed - food was fantastic, perhaps the best service we have had on the island from Mandy - she makes every guest feel welcome, appreciated and attended to. We were pleased to find wings sauced (you can get sauce on the side as well, but most stops on the island don't offer a buffalo sauce on the wings.) The sauce had great flavor, a little kick, and a salty tang. Very enjoyable appetizer! We also ordered the burger and fried chicken sandwich. Both came with fries and were $10U.S. each, very fairly priced. We especially loved the chicken sandwich, the breast was pounded thin and extra crispy! The restaurant had a cute patio area with Cornhole, and market lights. Inside they offered NFL games AND air-conditioning! Win-win! Do not sleep on Happy's - they have excellent daily specials, fabulous food and the best...

Don't miss out on this little treasure. We ended up here for dinner three nights out of our vacation. A small menu but everything is done perfectly or even made to order. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and they turned it into an amazing buffalo chicken sandwich with ranch. The burger is amazing and the fajitas were great also. Lots of tv's for sporting events and cold drinks. Mandy is the best and most knowledgeable person on the caye. It is definitely worth the ride to Happy's. Can't wait to go back...
