The good: Pretty good food and lots of good food choices! Love it that they deliver, also! Lots of 2-for-1 drinks (mimosas and champagne at least).
The bad: I got the broiled fish because the blackened one had onions - to which I’m allergic. I specified why I was getting broiled not blackened to my waiter after waiter said onions present in blackened seasoning. I got a fish dish that still had a little onion in it, and felt bad the next day. Went back a couple days later (there aren’t many options without going into San Pedro) and got a burger- specifically with no onion. Got a burger with onions, which I removed , but then after eating it I suspected some seasoning was added to the pattie based on a feeling. Upon inquiry I learned the pattie had onion salt added. I avoided the worst effects by immediately taking medication to counteract the onion, but if my allergies were anaphylactic in nature I might have died. It was still was a burden on my stay on Ambergris Caye, that no one needs or wants while vacationing.
In summary: Good solid place to go with many good food options, but stay away if you have food sensitivities or food allergies. It seems those get entirely ignored, even...
Read moreI recently dined at Someplace South Restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The service was absolutely top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel so welcome and took care of every detail, which added a personal touch to the evening.
The atmosphere was stunning and incredibly inviting. The decor was beautifully done, with warm lighting and tasteful design elements that created a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. It was the kind of place where you could relax and enjoy the moment.
One of the highlights was the live music. The performers were incredibly talented, and their music complemented the evening perfectly without being too loud or overpowering. It added a special charm to the whole experience.
And, of course, the food was out of this world! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. From appetizers to dessert, everything was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. You could tell they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in their menu.
I can’t recommend Someplace South enough—it’s a perfect spot for a date night, a celebration, or just an evening out. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreThis was our first visit at this restaurant- introduced to it by our adult son. Hands down the BEST FOOD in the island. The menu has a lot of variety which often is a turn off to me but the food we had was AMAZING and good price’s especially for what we got. Friday is steak night and the most expensive steak was surf and Turf $50 American dollars. I had the chicken curry - the best I’ve ever had for ($16 American dollars) and my husband had red snapper - DELICIOUS/$23 American dollars. THE SETTING IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE- cute little seating areas everywhere and the live music was as good as stuff I’ve heard in Nashville. And apparently they have live music for dinner Thursday through Saturday. Owner was very gracious. They actually have a chef which explains a lot. A great atmosphere that anyone of any age and budget would enjoy. A MUST try. We will definitely be back! Maybe even...
