Mesa Cantina San Pedro — Restaurant in San Pedro Town

Where do I even start?!?! I stopped into Mesa Cantina during my vacation July 24-28, 2025. Actually, I went there a few times while having fun in San Pedro with friends during that timeframe. This place was so welcoming, and a fun vibe as soon as we walked in. The staff were extremely friendly with on point hospitality that was above and beyond other places we have visited in San Pedro. I asked what their favorite dishes were and they gave me some great recommendations. I tried a few different dinner options, and everything was flavorful and exceeded my expectations. All of my friends loved everything and we couldn’t stop eating! The owners were there and visited with us, and made sure we have a great experience. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and great mentors to their staff to create a wonderful customer service experience. We have visited Mesa Cantina a couple of times now and both times the entrees were very good. Green chili pork is tender and tasty, good in enchilada form and even better as a taco. Not sure what the cheese crisp is supposed to be. Seems like an open faced quesadilla, but for some reason it takes 20 minutes to prepare, something to keep in mind if you want it as an appetizer.

Shame the beachfront is bulkheaded on both sides of this section of beach, as it causes the sargassum to stack up. Not much the owners can do about it, but it does take away from the overall experience a bit.

Overall, we are happy to have Mesa and the quality southwestern Mexican options they have. Definitely in our restaurant...

First time to Belize and we arrived and walked into town while waiting for our golf cart provider. Stumbled upon Mesa. Ross and Kristin (owners) were awesome! First, the food and service were fantastic! Yes, the coconut French toast was terrific. I got an egg on the side. Total was about what you’d pay in the states, around $11-12. But beyond that, Ross let me use his phone to contact my cart provider and generally helped with us get the lay of the land, some customs to be aware of, how pricing is done, etc. Being from the states, they provided a lot of helpful info in a short amount of time to us.
