If I could give this place a negative zero I would. My group and I went here on New Year's Eve; We made a reservation July 2018 We got to the restaurant early because we knew it would be busy because it was New Year's Eve. The hostess ask to go upstairs and wait for our table to be ready so that's what we did they have a lounge area where you can listen to music and get a drink which was very nice; A hour and 45 minutes later we check on our table and it still wasn't ready 20 minutes later we look up and four very large groups other than ours were seated before us when we got there a hour in the half before them. We went to check with the hostess and was giving ridiculous amounts of excuses something needs to be said in this review we were a group of 10 black people and 90% of the restaurant was white I hate to have to put this in a review but reality is reality we were given excuse out the excuse why those groups were seated before us. You may ask why did we stay and why didn't we leave to go to another restaurant the issue is in San Pedro all restaurants shut down at 10:00 p.m. by this time it's 9:45 p.m. there was no place to go and it was New Year Eve everything was booked up. After complaining for 30 minutes and threatening a bad review on Yelp the restaurant promise us free drinks 20% off our meal and in the end we never received a discount or free drinks and they ruined our New Years because we did not leave until 11:58 p.m. and the food was OK nothing to write home about. We were treated so disrespectfully this establishment is the most racist establishment I've ever been to amongst my travels. So like I said in the beginning if I could give this...

In short, great atmosphere and service and good massproduced cruise food. Would you pay $$$$ for it? More detailed: New Year dinner. Atmosphere is very nice Service is very good. Musac was loud to the point of being difficult to hear the waiter. But the main bummer was: Food for the price (300 USD for 2 adults 2 kids including tip) was WHATEVER. Cocktails were very average as they lacked flavor. Tasted like they were made with canned peaches? Out of 4 pina colada was the best. Oversalted fish bisque. Salads very unsophisticated and tasted very average. Snapper tasted fishy. One lobster was ok, the other had chemical taste to it. They were large but I would rather have a bit of very good than a lot of mediocre. Filet mignon had 2 pieces but again lacked flavor. Was served with onion rings. Can be pulled off but they were not salted and very unimpressive. Dessert was fresh, light, not dry but again just ok. Our overall impression of food and drink was that of good, mass produced cruise food. But guys, you are allegedly a 5 star restaurant. Where is your creativity, where is fresh locally produced fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood? Where are flavors of tropical paradise? We can't believe that a small restaurant Crave in San Ignacio beat you down to the point of oblivion. Yes, as argued by your chef in one of the replies, food taste is subjective. It is, but lack of flavor and sophistication and imagination is not. If you were a cruise food provider you would get 5 stars. But since you are $$$$ allegedly 5 star restaurant you just get 2. Maybe it is new year and your top chefs were out. But, no, we are not...

The ambiance and food were exceptional. My low rating is due to the young man who drove us to and from our hotel, and was also our server. He was sure to tell us they are not making any money from covid and it takes $450 USD to keep the restaurant open and that we were the only customers. Talk about making it uncomfortable to be there! When the bill came, the print was so small I couldn't see it but I put it on my card so no worries. I tipped $40 which I thought was USD (20%), but the bill was in BZE but the print was so small I could not see that!!! Most places give it to you in USD.

He was sure to sarcastically thank me for my large tip. I had already given him $20 USD to pick us up which is more than generous. I made up for my mistake by giving him $40 USD on the ride back which we had to continue to listen to how poor he was because of Covid. Dude, Covid is not my fault.

Total given to him that night was $80 USD for two hours of service.

EDIT: Because I can't reply to your message.... He was correct. My tip was 50% lower than it should have been because I thought the bill was in USD. I would never tip that low. The issue is the way he stated it. He was so thankful for a generous tip... And it was NOT a generous tip so clearly he was bei g sarcastic. He also was pushing for more money based on his stories about not having customers. That's not okay. I will also email you this. I do NOT want any refund. He should be tipped for...

This is an amazing restaurant! I was visiting Belize for the first time and our wonderful tour guide made a reservation for the group. The facility is beautifully designed - spacious with high ceilings, yet the lighting, the rich wood, and other natural materials used in the dining area makes the room feel very cozy. The wait staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. The menu! Well, what can I say? This was the best dinner I have had in Belize. I selected a salad with diced fruit, sesame crunchies, lettuce, onions and other goodies and it had a pineapple dressing. Then I had the jerk shrimp. The chef was able to accommodate my request to make it a little less fiery than usual. The deliciously cooked shrimp were served on a bed of coconut rice with other tasty vegetables hidden underneath and sitting in a sauce of perfectly seasoned creamy coconut milk. The plate was enhanced with swashes of pureed sweet potato (I think! It was pale orange and delicious) and sweet plantains. Every one else at the table raved about their menu choices, too. This is a "not to be missed" place when visiting San Pedro. There was even live music that didn't overpower, it helped round out the ambience. Go there with a special someone, go there with friends, go there with family, or just go by yourself, but definitely put Hidden Treasure on your list. It is family owned and operated and it is obvious the family cares that you enjoy your visit.

This restaurant was over all very good for atmosphere and food. I had made Friday night 7:00 PM dinner reservations far in advance for 2. Upon arrival, using their free golf cart shuttle service if you are located on the South side, we were greeted and seated. The place was fairly empty on the first floor, but there was a private party on the 2nd. floor The place is big, very festive with table cloths. There is a fairly large bar area where they have live music. Keep in mind, no air conditioning. Our server was new and did not quit know the lay of the land. When I asked questions about the menu, he did not know and had to check with kitchen about 3 times. We ordered drinks, Basil Gimlet and a Ginger Lemon Drop Martini. The drinks were fantastic, but what was not acceptable was how long it took to make and deliver. We in fact ordered another round and waited so long till the point I had to talk with the manger. The drinks came after we finish our meal. The food we ordered was the Seafood Ceviche, the Chimichurri Pork Chop and Caribbean Jerk Shrimp. All the food presentation and taste were excellent. Atmosphere: patio seating festive, upscale. Food: excellent. Service: OK. Bar Service: horrible.

We chose hidden treasure as the place to celebrate our anniversary. We rang ahead to reserve a table and arranged a complimentary pick up and drop off from our hotel to the restaurant. When we arrived they had our table decorated with little silver hearts. It was super cute. We started our meal with the ceviche which was lovely. I followed this up with the special which was a absolutely delicious snapper, served with shrimp and lobster. My husband had the vegetarian Caribbean curry which was excellent. The servings were a generous size and the service was wonderful. My husband had a mojito which was well mixed and served with fresh mint. They have a decent but short wine selection. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. It was our most expensive meal on our holiday for $100 US but the food and ambiance was well worth it. I love supporting locally owned businesses, trying local food and produce and this ticks all those boxes. The restaurant is vegetarian and vegan friendly but the menu though good is not extensive.
