This hotel is a case of gross property neglect.||||We dont require much for travel, and the basic needs are safety and cleanliness. This place failed at both.||||Dont know where to start, so Ill just go by features:||||Rooms: straight out of the last century, with heavy wooden furniture and rusted insides. The bedding looked like it was obtained from a donation bin, with mallard duck themed quilts and sheets that came out of the boxspring with the slightest movement. The mattresses had rusty wires sticking out, and I think the larger mattress was no bigger than a full. The shower rod was so RUSTED we could not put our bathing suits up to dry as they would snag on the peels of paint or stain with rust. Water pressure and wifi was awful. The bathroom had only one working lightbulb (out of the three in the bathroom) that died during our stay. There is a set of dishes for two only and a fridge. The TV didnt work, but we didnt care about that. || We paid the extra charge for a beachfront cabana, which was so horribly maintained that I would hate to see the rest of them.||There is no phone in the room, so if you need the front desk you have to walk over.||||Housekeeping: spotty at best. Our room was not cleaned every day, and the cabanas get sandy very quickly. ||||BEACH: there is none. Its a water wall flanked by two crumbling docks with ill maintained slippery stairs that lead to a somewhat walkable water. you enter into knee deep water which does not get deeper. The part of the beach closer to the water is downright disguisting- discarded garbage, plastic, remnants of shoes, rocky and no sand. the beach in the property photos is the first ten meters close to the cabanas, filled with sand and wooden beach chairs. The part close to the water wall looks like a crumbling construction site, with large rocks, areas of slippery mud and garbage. When we asked the front desk about a beach they pointed us to the beach club south of the property, but the water here is knee level at the deepest. The nearest walk in beach is at Alaia or steps at Victoria house (waist deep)||||Pool: Cement slab painted blue, with large areas of peeling.||||Property/ gardens: lots of foliage which was pretty, with friendly lounging iguanas. But... none of the coconut trees are denutted, resulting in huge skull crushing coconuts randomly dropping on the passageways, and in our case, right in front of our chair in front of the cabana. I was two feet away from a coconut that landed from full height. Had that thing made contact I would have been in a hospital.||||Front desk: very limited bankers hours. there are two people here, but for some reason they cannot alternate lunch breaks so from 12-1 the office is closed. ||||Food: get a cart and shop before coming here. You will be limited to Toast, which has lots of drinks and a bar menu. OK for 1-2 times, but it gets boring quickly. We didnt try breakfast here, not sure if it is served. Loud live music from here will keep you up at night.||The water beach club (one property south) was great, and quite cute.||||Transport: again, def get a cart as this property is far from anything. They offer a bike rental for $9 per day, and when I asked for one they came out with a bent rusted beach cruiser that was so rusted the seat could not be adjusted from the height set for a middle schooler.||||The only reason why this review is a two and not a one is the friendly staff. But boy- this property is dilapidated and needs either a full time maintenance worker for a year or a complete overhaul. Such a pity as the location is not bad, and with basic maintenance would be fine. But rusted crumbling fixtures and potential skull...

This resort is exactly what we expect when we go on our vacation. It's very simple but has everything we're looking for. It's also far away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. The room was big enough and there were no wasted space. On our vacation we like to venture and not spend much time in the resort grounds, however, when we do spend time on the resort, we require very little. Coming from Florida, the beach area has its drawback, but that can be attributed to beach erosion and hurricanes in the past, so it's not their fault. For relaxing and just laying around, it's great with the palm trees and constant wind blowing. The wind blowing was a bit much for the pool area though. Because of it, we decided to lay poolside rather than actually get in the pool. The grounds are kept clean with workers trimming/weeding all day long. Housekeeping was on top of things. Marci took the time to talk to us to find out what we needed and made sure we were comfortable in our room. She even went as far as to give us suggestions on where to get the best local food in the area. From the beginning to the end of our stay She made sure that we had what we needed. In her words, "you come here to get away from problems, let me make sure that we (the resort) take care of you like family." If you decide to stay here, make sure to find her, she can help you with more than just clean towels. And if you decide to go fishing (or buy fish from the dock) and don't want to have the smell of fish in your room, have the restaurant next door cook it for you. They did a great job with cooking our catch!! Watch for kids coming in from fishing and using the dock. You may be able to buy seafood from them (stone crabs, conch, lobster, etc.) and have the restaurant cook it for you. You can't get any fresher than that!! We really had a good time staying here. If/when we go back, we will certainly look for this...

If I could give this -10 I would/ bugs in the room and on the sheets and on the mattress under the sheets. There was also blood on the mattress and they would not give us a refund but offered us a credit which we would not be able to use. The lady working there admitted it that there were bugs and the room was not cleaned properly and called the manager in NEw York who also said no refunds. They also said that the manager had to answer the phone at 3 am NY time which I’m sorry is not my concern at 7 pm after travelling all day. Ridiculous customer service.

This is exactly what we were looking for in an island beach stay. Away from the crazy hustle and bustle of downtown. Secluded, quiet, and relaxing. The beach cabanas were painted in cute pastel colors. The pool was clean and refreshing, and there were plenty of lounge chairs and hammocks to relax. There were games around the pool area, like darts, corn hole, bowling, and large jenga. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. There are also golf carts and bikes to rent on site that you can get around the island.

Adorable little bungalow type houses on the south end of the city. A quick drive on a golf cart gets you into town. A variety of food options close if you don’t care to drive into the city. Staff is helpful and it seems like hardly any people are staying here. There’s a fun bar attached to the hotel and pretty beach to the east. Beds are decent but I’m grateful for anything semi soft after a long day of scuba diving. Air conditioning works great and closet for storing clothes.
