We loved our meal and experience at Driftwood Beach Bar & Pizza Shack
My husband and I were out exploring the town of Hopkins on our bikes when hunger struck around 3pm! We were hot, hungry, and very thirsty so we popped into Driftwood for a bite.
We ordered a pizza and a couple of waters. We split the Hopkins Hawaiian and it hit the spot. This pie is made with a Red Sauce, Pineapple, Baked Ham, Crispy Bacon, Toasted Coconut, and a Honey Crust. We ordered the small but wish we had split the medium/large, the pizza was THAT good. We skipped the Belikins this time around; however, a couple of cold Belikins would have paired nicely with the pizza!
The environment is relaxed and friendly and I loved the gentle cross breeze that keeps the bar cool. My favorite part about this place, it's covered and right on the beach. While you are dining on some fantastic pizzas, you can gaze upon the beautiful Caribbean sea and maybe even get a little birding in!
We will be back the next time we...
Read moreTHE place to eat when in Hopkins. I was shocked at the kindness of the staff. I say this because I wasn't greeted as a customer/tourist. I was greeted as a family member that came to visit for a few days. The staff was very warm and inviting. The atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. Although you could still get your groove on if so inclined with the live Garifina band on Tuesday and Saturday evenings. The food was well presented and flavorful. I was told this was the best place for pizza in Hopkins. From my experience, it is, for now. I have not checked the other places in Hopkins yet. When you visit ask for Denise. She's that aunt who hasn't seen you in while who wants to feed you and find out what you've got going on. Now I am going to admit it right away. I didn't take many photos if any good ones because I was ingrossed in my children and watching them dance to the music of the live Garifina band. I did post one photo of the pizza I had, The Driftwood Combo, which I...

Those ladies have perfected the art of pizza dough.
And finally, I had Tory(i) as my waitress. She was lovely. We had her as our waitress 2 times. And bot times was lovely. She's such a sweetheart. Truly mastered kindness. She was consistently following up with us and paid attention when we were low on something or just wanted to see how we were doing. Refreshing.
We also got lucky and caught the Lebeha Drummers on a Thursday. They destroyed the atmosphere. Everyone was super happy to listen and see the performance and local community dancing.
Go there, order their pizza.
p.s. The fish and chips are amazing as well. Fresh catches from their...
