Ara Cocktail — Restaurant in Thimphu District

We stopped at Ara Cocktail for a sundowner drink before we went back to our hotel for dinner. We had been tipped off to the Drunken Yeti in the Lonely Planet Guide but due to unforeseen circumstances that bar was closed on this particular evening.

Thankfully Ara Cocktail located on the floor before the Drunken Yeti was available to take us in. We had Gin & Tonic's which were double pour local gins and canned tonic water - very nice, with ice and a couple of beers among us. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Drinks reasonably priced. We loved the vibe here and although the clouds prevented any real sunset the view from this floor was pretty cool. It was our karma that we landed up here and what a treat. We had the ara sour and the New York ara sour, and both were delicious. We also had an appetizer of potato tasse which was super tasty.
